So why the lead time, why the price?

This is one of the things not many think about. Timber merchants do not understand even when you tell them exactly what you need theyve try and palm the first piece of wood off to you. so I end up going out and selecting the wood myself, first I have to run it through a jointer then i have to plane it down to the correct size and get the wood straight, then I have to cut strips out of it.

I've found out the hard way across the board finding people that are on the same wave length with your needs ain't easy, infact I'd say it's the most frustrating part of the whole process.
