Starz Academy FC u15s

Today we returned to brandhall to face Knowle Tigers. Starz started the game strong but after a few early missed chances knowle came back into the game hitting the woodwork a couple of times.

Midway through the first half it was the visitors who broke the deadlock. 1-0

Despite being a goal down Starz continued to push forward and were rewarded with a penalty. Layts converted the spot kick to draw us level 1-1

Unfortunately for us it was Knowle who found the net again not long before the break. Half time 2-1

In a relatively even second half chances were at a premium. Both sides battled well across the pitch but at times were unable to find the final ball into the opponent's final third.

6 minutes from time Starz won a corner which was swung in and what appeared to be a scramble on the goal line the ball ended up in the net!. One for the dubious goals panel! However we didn't mind,.cue the celebrations!. 2-2

Rallied by the late equaliser it was starz who then looked the more likely to grab all 3 points late on. Creating a couple of good shooting opportunities but the win today wasn't to be.

Today we visited AFC Chelmsley in the latest round of the cup competition. After starz went ahead early on AFC Chelmsley then levelled the score a short time after. However after resetting from the set back the starz lads quality all over the pitch soon saw them in complete control. They netted further goals to take the tie away from chelmsley.

Credit to the hosts for continuing to battle on which their efforts were repayed later on with another goal. However the game was already well and truly won by this point.

A lovely touch by both teams today carrying and placing a wreath on the pitch for remembrance Sunday before impeccably observing the 2 minutes silence.

Starz vs Boldmere St Michael's part 2

Despite the less than favourable conditions and a change of venue the lads put on a display showing some real quality. Running out comfortable winners in the end. Another 3 points on the board and a performance across the park to take the edge off the weather!! Well done lads!.starz ay we!!! ⚽️

⚽️GAME DAY⚽️ today we welcome the players, coaches and parents from Kidderminster Athletic FC to Brennand Road. As the season draws to an end we look to take as many points as possible from our remaining fixtures. Today will be a tough test against a very good team. Last time out it was a very narrow victory for Kidderminster as 1 goal was enough to win the reverse fixture. We hope the lads can reach the same levels today which would make it a very entertaining game.

Match Acton vs Kidderminster Athletic 7.4.24

A single 2nd half goal was enough for Kidderminster Athletic to take all 3 points in what was a very close encounter.

Starz started brightly taking the game to Kidderminster. 1st half efforts saw us hit the woodwork twice and also forcing Kidderminster into some last ditch defending to keep out the starz boys. The Kidderminster goalkeeper pulled off a great save to deny what looked to be a certain goal.

The starz intensity, energy and belief grew as the half went on restricting a very good footballing side in Kidderminster to minimal attempts. We went in at half time at 0 - 0 unlucky not to be a couple of goals to the good.

The 2nd half started similarly to the 1st, a very close battle in all areas of the pitch. Kidderminster did however break the deadlock in the 2nd half but true to the team ethic throughout the starz boys battled on.

Starz created chances again but we're unable to draw level. The unfortunate luck continued in the 2nd half again hitting the woodwork.

Plenty of positives to take away from the game today. We truly felt we had done enough to earn at least a point from the game if not more.
