Results from Wednesday🔥

M2s finish the BUCS season this semester undefeated, with a great 3-0 win to finish! W2s played against UWE in an exciting friendly, coming out with 4/6 sets!! M1s unfortunately finish their season with a loss, but not without fighting until the end to earn 2 sets🔥🔥🔥

MVP

Sami Rehman - M1 Outside
SAMI REHMAN THE PINCH PIPER GOAT
The secret weapon in M1 that has been away because of injury was finally able to come and play for us and holy was it good. From an extremely rough n tight 1-1 start Sami was put on and could not stop slamming balls straight into the ground from 10m in the air. Together with his under-head-over-hand recieve that confused Coventry’s offense Sami was definitely one to watch this game.

HM
Prasad’s consistent serve kept us in the game and giving us hope through to the end of the match bringing us from 14-6 to 14-13.
Will showed us his age and experience on the court being able to play any ball sent to him and getting multiple shut down blocks through the game.

Fraser Weston - M2 Setter
Fraser has been a rock of the club since he joined and there was no way he was leaving without leaving a mark. His performance on Wednesday only showed how great he’s always been as a setter and as a captain. He nailed every set he made along with blocking the attack from the opposition while keeping the team together on court through the highs and lows. Absolute Fraser wasn’t just a caption for us but was the very definition of how he played the game when he was in control of every single point. O captain my captain you’ve made us proud and everytime UOBVC remembers you it’ll be with a smile on our face.

Tricia Ong - W2 Setter; Tomo Kadowaki - W2 Outside
Both absolute beasts on court with tricia stepping up and going back to her yr 1 career playing setter she did an amazing job
And tomo our powerhouse hitter make all and any ball work for her she had great defense and even better attack ! Absolutely brilliant performance for both of them

Week 17 of the ‘25/26 Season!

We’ve now reached the final week of the season! It’s been such an amazing year to play volleyball, with so many ups and downs and laughs. Make sure to support our M1, M2, and W2 tomorrow in their final games!!!

Sami Rehman - M1 Outside
Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee, jiggles in the air, and hits down balls over the biggest of blocks. Sami “The Goat” Rehman, rising from the depths of devs, into 2s and all the way into the 1s squad, he’s here to show off all that he’s learnt in his time as a volleyball player in his final game for the club. Energy on court won’t be same once he’s gone 🫡❤️.

Fraser Weston - M2 Setter
He’s been collecting the volleyball infinity stones for his 32 years of life. There are not many who can chenuinely claim the title Fraser has of officially playing nearly every position possible. Concluding his uob career with nothing less than a 3m bounce is the only goal tomorrow. In the meantime we’ll see buttery sets both on and off net and setter dumps not even he can see coming. The only words I can use to describe tomorrow’s game is absolute Fraser.

Tricia Ong - W2 Setter
Real ones remember when Tricia ran the court as a setter, and she’s back to do it again. Playing outside for w2s this year, she’s done nothing but cook, but now it’s time to come home. Wielding a demon serve and ironclad floor defense, forget Fraser. She’s the real jack of all trades. The only tragedy is that she won’t be taking cold pictures of herself while she plays. So we better show up and see for ourselves.

It’s been a great year, I’ll miss doing these posts!

Love, always

Aimard Julian :)

CONFERENCE CUP RESULTS!!!

W1S TAKE THE MIDLANDS CONFERENCE CUP TITLE!!! They finish their ‘25/26 BUCS season undefeated, and we all can’t wait to see how they take on div 1 next year🔥
Both teams fought incredibly hard, and each game was so intense to watch. We are all so incredibly proud of our W1s and M1s for making it to the conference cup final, and we’ll get them again next year💯.

MVPS

Ella Kooy - W1s Middle
Game after game Ella continues to put up her iron wall again, getting some amazing kill blocks that lead us to victory against Staffs. Dominating at the net, Ella delivered us countless kills from her slides and 3 balls, unstoppable by the opposition block. Her ability to read the game, close the block with the pins, and maintain high energy throughout the stresses of the game gave us a huge advantage. Ella was a huge driving force behind our cup-winning performance and we wouldn’t be here without her.

M1s MVP - waiting on captains
