The USKA Fight Team were back in action today supporting the Back to School Confidence Cup hosted by AW Kickboxing at the Aero-Kick Community Gym in Birmingham.

The team coached was coached and cornered by USKA Chief Instructor Neil Kelly, USKA Fight Coach Mushy Younis and USKA Instructor Sami Kelly on the day.

The event provided another valuable opportunity to get our fighters out competing and gaining experience in a number of different fighting disciplines.

Today was very much about development and progression, with a number of first time and grassroots fighters representing USKA and stepping into a competitive environment to test themselves.

The team all in action on the day consisted of Nela Glowacz, Omari Ellahi, Daniel Kiss, Aairah Mohammad, Kevin Cojocaru, Anaya Hameed, Amad Azim, Rayaan Ellahi, Mustafa Younis, Musa Khan, Mohammed Rayan Mahmood, Haidar Khan, Nayan Sehmi, Rayyan Salim, Julia Glowacz, and Isa Khan.

Interclub events like this play an important part in a fighter’s journey stepping into the ring to try and execute what they have been practicing in the gym.

Controlling the nerves, listening to your corner, putting your training into practice and gaining the kind of experience that simply cannot be replicated in the gym.

For some of our team, today represented their very first taste of competition, while others were able to add more valuable rounds to their experience as they continue to develop. There were plenty of positives for coaches to take away from the performances, along with areas to work on when everyone returns to the USKA Fight Factory.

Every contest gives us more information, and every experience helps build a more confident, composed and complete fighter.

A massive well done to every member of the USKA Fight Team who stepped up and represented the club today.

Thank you also to all the parents, families and supporters who travelled along and got behind the team throughout the day, and to the organisers and officials who helped make the event possible.

Experience gained. Lessons learned. Confidence built.

Now it's back to the gym, back to work and onto the next one!

TEAM USKA!

ICO TEAM ENGLAND SQUAD TRAINING – SEPTEMBER 2026!

With the ICO World Championships in France now just weeks away, preparations stepped up another level at today’s Team England Squad Training session at the USKA Fight Factory.

And today, everything suddenly got very real!

It was a packed session with an excellent turnout as Team England members came together for one of their final opportunities to train as a squad before heading to France.

The England kit was officially distributed, with the squad dressed to impress in the national colours they will proudly wear as they represent their country on the mats and in the ring at next month’s World Championships.

The squad also completed their Fit to Fight medicals, with every athlete being checked over as part of the mandatory safety requirements ahead of competing in France.

We were also delighted to welcome a special guest instructor to today’s session in the form of ICO Female Ambassador Amie Weaver.

Amie is a highly successful and experienced coach who has helped produce numerous World Champions across both mat and ring disciplines at multiple World Championships.

Amie kicked off the training with a high-energy, high-intensity warm-up that quickly had everyone sweating and ready for the work ahead.

From there, she moved the squad onto the pads, working a series of striking drills both on the advance and on the retreat, encouraging everyone to stay sharp, composed and effective while constantly changing direction.

ICO Head England Ring Sports Coach Neil Kelly then took over for the next section, moving the squad into sparring drills and exploring multiple ways of dealing with the same attack.

The emphasis was on giving fighters options, encouraging them to think, react and adapt rather than relying on just one response when under pressure.

With the hard work already well and truly done, there was still one final challenge waiting!

The session finished with a high-intensity team circuit blast, squeezing out that last bit of energy and fighting spirit from everyone before finally calling time on another action-packed and extremely productive squad session.

Amie will also be part of the Team England Coaching Team in France, where she will be on hand to offer advice, support and corner work to Team England competitors throughout the Championships.

With the England kit on, medicals completed and another tough training session in the bank, you could really feel the excitement and anticipation building amongst the squad.

There is now just ONE final Team England Squad Training session remaining on 3rd October.

One last opportunity to cross the T’s, dot the I’s and make those final adjustments before Team England heads to France in pursuit of World Championship success.

The hard work has been done.

Now it’s about sharpening the tools, staying focused and making every remaining session count.

FRANCE… WE’RE COMING! 🇬🇧🥊🏆

BE KIND LIKE THE USKA KIDS!

Going back to school can bring lots of different feelings and emotions for our children.

For some, it’s an exciting time. They can’t wait to see their friends, meet their new teachers and get back into school life.

For others, it can feel very different.

A new teacher, new classmates, harder schoolwork, getting back into a routine or simply being away from home again can all feel overwhelming. Sadly, some children may also worry about being left out, picked on or targeted simply for being different.

That’s why one of the most important lessons we can teach our children this school year has nothing to do with maths, English or science...

KINDNESS.

Be the child who says hello.
Be the child who includes someone.
Be the child who offers to help.
Be the child who uses good manners.
Be the child who speaks up when someone is being treated unfairly.
And most importantly, be the child who chooses kindness.

A small act that takes seconds could completely change another child's day.

At the USKA Fight Factory, we want our children to grow into more than good martial artists. We want them to become confident, respectful and caring young people who look out for those around them.

🥊 Strong bodies. Strong minds. Kind hearts.

As our USKA kids head back to school, we challenge every one of them to make a difference.

In a world where you can be anything... BE KIND! ❤️

BACK TO SCHOOL WITH USKA!

After a long summer of holidays, late nights and broken routines, September is the perfect time to get your child back into a positive, structured routine.

At the USKA Fight Factory, our children’s Kickboxing classes offer much more than learning punches and kicks.

Martial arts training can help children develop focus, discipline, confidence, resilience and self-esteem, while improving their fitness, coordination and ability to listen, learn and follow instructions.

Our classes provide a fun, friendly and structured environment where children can make friends, work towards achievable goals and experience the confidence that comes from learning new skills and seeing themselves improve.

These are qualities that don't just stay on the mats. They can positively influence how children approach challenges at school, at home and in everyday life.

As the new school year begins, give your child the opportunity to become fitter, more focused, more confident and ready to take on new challenges.

🥊 STRONG KIDS. STRONG MINDS. BRIGHT FUTURES.

New members are always welcome, and beginners need absolutely no previous martial arts experience.
