Mon 5th January meeting cancelled due to weather.

Happy New Year. ECF January 26 ratings are available. We use these for the rest of the season. Club reopens on Mon 5th January and our first match is Thu 8th January.

Mon 15th Dec no club session because we have an away match. Then closing for Christmas and New Year. Club re-opens Mon 5th January 2026.

Our fixtures for 2025-26 have been cross-checked against the league websites and the list is now available.

The trophy we hold for a year for winning the Birmingham League Townshend knockout competition.

Next Monday 5th May is a bank holiday including the VE Day procession and flypast 🇬🇧 (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-to-watch-the-2025-victory-in-europe-ve-day-celebrations/how-to-watch-the-ve-day-procession-and-flypast-5-may-2025) so we're not meeting. Our next meeting is our AGM on 12th May.

We won the final of the Birmingham League knockout competition. That was our final match of the 24-25 season.

No club night next Monday 10th March because we have an away match. 📺♟On the same evening at 8pm BBC2 is broadcasting the first episode of Chess Masters. From a review in the Radio Times the presentation style may not appeal to everyone but I shouldn't judge before viewing.

We've played our last match of 2024 and aren't meeting on 23rd December. Next club night Mon 6th January 2025.

At our last AGM we changed our name to Birmingham St Georges but some web pages may still show the previous name. Facebook hasn't implemented my request to change the page name.

Our next club internal tournament is Mon 12th August. We've changed playing room from the upper to lower floor of the church centre. Same entrance from the car park but take the stairs down instead of up and go through 2 sets of double doors.
