We’ve had a phenomenal summer here at Alexander Stadium, with records broken and unforgettable performances 🔢

But behind every great performance is the hard work, dedication and preparation that happens away from the spotlight. During recent events at Alexander Stadium, that preparation continued at Perry Fitness Centre, where athletes including gold medallists Amy Hunt and Dina Asher-Smith trained between competitions 💪

We’re incredibly proud that our facilities played even a small part in supporting these athletes on their journey to historic success 💙

We were incredibly proud to host last week’s Special Olympics GB National Summer Games alongside our sister site at Wyndley Leisure Centre 🥳

It was wonderful to welcome thousands of athletes, families, carers and volunteers to Alexander Stadium for such a fantastic celebration of sport, friendship and inclusion 🤌🏼

Former athlete Niall Guite created this amazing piece of artwork of Alexander Stadium. We loved it so much that we’ve bought it and will be proudly displaying the artwork in one of our hospitality facilities for visitors, colleagues and guests to enjoy for years to come 🎨

Our General Manager Gary and Sales Executive Caitlin are pictured here with Niall’s artwork. Gary said: “We’re incredibly proud to display Niall’s wonderful artwork of Alexander Stadium. Created following the GB Special Olympics National Summer Games, the piece has been professionally framed and will be on display for visitors, colleagues and guests to enjoy.”

A little heads-up for our members! We know how important your training time is, so we wanted to let you know about a few upcoming track closures that may affect your plans 🏃‍♀️

Saturday 5th September - Our warm-up track & High-Performance Centre will be closed for an exclusive event, but the main track will remain open.

Wednesday 2nd, 16th, 23rd & 30th September - The main track will be closed between 3pm and 10pm, with the warm-up track remaining open.

The Special Olympics GB National Summer Games are in full swing! 🥇

Alexander Stadium and Wyndley Leisure Centre have been buzzing with athletes, families, coaches, spectators and some incredible volunteers making it all happen 📊

We caught up with Berni and Amanda at the Opening Ceremony to find out why they volunteer.

Berni said: “If they’re committed, the least I can do is be committed to helping them achieve their dreams.” 🗣️

Amanda added: “You’re helping, you’re part of the atmosphere - and to do it at a venue like this is amazing.” 🏟️
