BIRMINGHAM NETBALL WINTER LEAGUE 2023-24

And just like that winter league is over once again! We finished our last game on Saturday 13th April with a big 50-32 WIN against Boldmere. This was a really strong finish to the league against the team that has finished on top. Well done to the whole team and POTM Shareen Bailey!!👑💪

As the winter season has now finished, we have ended up 5th in the league with 7 wins and 7 losses. A great effort through the season from all our players and thank you to supporters too who have come to watch and cheer us on! We now move to summer league that starts on Thursday 2nd May ☀️🕶️

Our training sessions have now moved to outdoors on Wednesday for the lighter nights! As well as our social league team continuing on Mondays nights. If you are interested in coming along to training, we are friendly bunch so drop a message and we’ll let you know when and where 🩵🤍💪

Despite a strong start in the first half the game, with great shooting and defensive play, our opponents started to take the lead in the 2nd half and managed to push on. Lots of learnings to take from the game and build on for a last couple of matches of the winter season 💪✨🌟

What a game we had at the weekend! It was a close fought game with swings in momentum but our arms over, full-court defence really put our opponents off. Whilst confident and calm in attack, we managed to pull away in the last quarter and take the WIN! 👏💙🙌

NETBALL SUPER LEAGUE - SEASON OPENER

Yesterday we had a fab time at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena watching the NSL season opener! Getting to see all 10 teams in the league in action was amazing and cheering on our local NSL team 🤩🧡 we also had a great view of the warm up court and may have got some ideas for training drills…😅🙌💪

Despite a really strong start and performance throughout the game, we didn’t come away with the win this time. This game was neck and neck for the vast majority of the match, with momentum swings going both ways. One consistency was the arms over defence that we have been working in training, which was implemented all the way down the court. A full team effort to put pressure in the opposition!👏✨🙌

Such a close match at the weekend, despite not coming away with the win, the team showed so much grit playing on with injuries and moving around positions on the court. Everyone gave maximum effort to the game and we were hot on the heels of our opponents all match long. On to the next one 💪🙌💙
