BNW & INWA Nordic Walking Instructor based in Harborne, Birmingham offering: taster sessions; beginn I began Nordic Walking over 6 years ago.

Nordic walking turns a simple walk around the block into an efficient, effective, aerobic total-body workout and it is easy to learn - if you can walk, you can learn to Nordic Walk. From the moment I picked up the poles it just felt right - my background as a Physiotherapist may have helped but it really is an easy, instinctive and natural way to walk. By harnessing the upper body a simple walk be

After a lot of soul searching I have come to the difficult decision to discontinue aCMe Nordic Walking.
For personal reasons I had already wound down to existing clients only but it has become increasingly difficult to deliver the standard of service I would like & clients deserve.

Once an aCMe Walker, always an aCMe Walker so we will continue to appear at Parkrun and ad hoc events together.
Who knows maybe I will be able to relaunch in the future 🤞🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻

Until then:
May the road rise up to meet you & the wind be always at your back,

aCMe Walkers have a long tradition of pushing the poles at Parkrun.
Parkrun UK want more people to discover the pleasure of sharing a cheeky Saturday morning 5k - at your own pace 👣
So October is officially Parkwalk month!

We couldn't make the first one... who is joining us on 8th October?
We will be at Woodgate Valley Parkrun but, if that doesn't suit, join a local one and share a pic here 😊👣

Mixed feelings tonight :
Last Winter Walk before the clocks change and we can resume our regular routes 👍🏻but also last time out for the lights ☹️.

Random Birmingham moment - this abandoned rocking horse was waiting to see us off (and welcome us back). Hopefully someone will rescue him 🐴🤞🏻

Back to parkrun this morning - our 2nd at Woodgate, 31st & 34th for Mr & Mrs aCMe
BUT 🥁🥁🥁🥁
= First outing for our new milestone t-shirts!

On our return 26th of Feb a purple 25 appeared next to our names... before Covid the first Milestone for participants was 50 parkruns...
turns out we missed the news that parkrun had revamped them! 🤦‍♀️

parkrun HQ made the hard decision to stop giving them away for free (just not a sustainable cost) BUT the good news was that meant they could even out the milestones across all groups (participants and volunteers).
Very excited to get ours!

Now - just need to remember to leave phones at the finish so we can take a proper team photo (not one in the garden at home!)... Next time 🤞🏻👣

Well, after a 2 year covid induced hiatus (inc extra time to get our Saturday mornings back on track!) aCMe Nordic Walkers returned to Walking at Parkrun 👣💕

We now have an event closer to home and we were warmly welcomed to Woodgate Valley Country Park parkrun.

This was event 28 for them, and they are a well organised and friendly bunch 😊
Approx 1/6 of the size we are used to so the pack thinned out quickly making it much easier to get started and up to pace.
Good course - although 'Horsey hill' makes for a challenging section at 4k, it is followed by a lap of the field (bit squishy today) which allowed for nice recovery into the funnel!

Failed to take a selfie to mark the occasion 🙈
but Richard & I realise we qualify for a 25 Milestone T-shirt 💪🏻 so expect one next time!
