βοΈ FIRST THROUGH THE PATHWAY βοΈ
The Solihull Barons are proud to announce the signing of forward Ollie Bruce for the 2026/27 season. Following the recent launch of the club's new development pathway, Ollie becomes the first Solihull Junior Barons player to progress into the senior setup, marking an exciting milestone for the future of the club.
Ollie, 17, is a product of the Solihull Junior Barons system, having progressed through the club from the very beginning of his hockey journey. A natural leader, he currently serves as captain of the Under-19 team and earned selection to the England Under-17 squad last season.
Combining impressive size with strong technical ability, Ollie has developed into a significant offensive threat, recording 46 points in 19 games in Under-19 Division 1 during the 2025/26 season.
We're delighted to welcome Ollie into the senior ranks and look forward to seeing his continued development in Barons colours.

Hello Barons fans!
Iβm really excited to be joining the Solihull Barons for the 2026/27 season and looking forward to pushing for every piece of silverware up for grabs.
I know a few of the guys on the team already and I have heard itβs a really great setup, so I am looking forward to seeing how I can slot in and help in whatever way the team need.
On a personal level, I am looking forward to the opportunity to show what I can do with more playing minutes. I am hoping to use my speed and strength to be a valuable offensive threat for the Barons this season.

π΄βͺ A NEW PATHWAY FOR FUTURE BARONS π΄βͺ
The UNIFLARE Solihull Barons are thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership creating a clear development pathway from the Solihull Junior Barons through to our senior team.
This collaboration is designed to nurture the next generation of Barons players and establish the most effective player development pathway in the clubβs modern history.
Over the past five years, the Junior Barons have enjoyed outstanding success, with player development reaching a level where progression into senior hockey is now a genuine and realistic opportunity.
The pathway will be overseen by former Barons player Rob Eley, who brings a wealth of experience across both junior and senior levels. Rob will work closely to identify emerging talent and introduce them to Head Coach Ainsley Smith, who will make the final decisions on progression into the senior ranks.
π£οΈ Rob Eley said:οΏ½βThis is something the Solihull Junior Barons have been working towards for the past couple of years and we hope itβs not just a short-term fix but a sustainable recruitment solution. The talent level within the junior club is now far above what weβve seen in the last two decades and thereβs no reason why we canβt produce homegrown players that Baronsβ supporters can be proud of.β
This is a huge step forward for the club, strengthening our identity and building a future with homegrown talent at its core.
π¬ Join us in supporting the next generation of Barons!
