a film & archive project documenting the history of The Birmingham Superprix, the only legal street race on mainland UK

from 1986 to 1990, Birmingham City staged a street race every August Bank Holiday weekend. it took over 20 years to develop, support and plan the event prior to the inaugural year in 1986, with involvement and backing from Bernie Ecclestone, Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Stirling Moss, and Nigel Mansell, and with rising stars such as Damon Hill, Jean Alesi, Mika Hakkinen and Martin Brundle all charging

Former-BTCC driver, founder & 2 times Birmingham Superprix competitor Alan Minshaw sadly passed away on Tuesday.

Alan competed in the 1988 & 1989 races (pictured), racing alongside Roland Ratzenberger in the Demon Tweeks E30 M3 (1988).

A massive happy birthday to the legendary former F1 driver Martin Donnelly who turns 60 today, captured here in what is quite possibly one of the most incredible shots taken during the Superprix by none other than John Clewer.
