A heartbreaking end to what has been a journey of ups and downs.

Firstly we congratulate Maypole for becoming champions. The league table doesn't lie over the course of the season and what they have done has to be commended. The first 8 minutes today ultimately decided today's game, we started nervous and maypole took full advantage and at 2 0 the mountain was high. For the next 80 we gave it everything and in the last 15 minutes it felt like the equaliser was coming, but again you have to congratulate maypole for being so resolute and committed. We came and gave it our all and we can hold our head high for what we have achieved this year.

Ultimately this is our last game , and it's sad it's ended this way but as a club Sands United Birmingham & Solihull have decided that we won't be continuing next Season.

If you don't know our story, we play for a very different reason. We play for men who have lost a child and what we have done in the last 6 years has been about giving those Men a purpose and meaning, but we felt it was the right time win or lose to end the journey we have been on. We thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and supported us along the way. All the teams we have played and shown us the utmost respect. I thank all our players over the years for all the efforts and time shared with us on a Sunday.

For now it's goodbye, but we maybe back one day. Up the Sands ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก

Hi all, its the gaffers Mrs here. Just wanted to send a little note to you all... today wasn't the ending we wanted but it takes nothing away from this team, our bond and our reason we exist ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

The last 5 years have been an absolute joy and I don't think anyone will understand when we say it's absolutely more than just football.

The reason we are who we are is Lucas Hammond โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ

So we head to the final game of the season and it is all on the line. Win or draw and the title is ours , lose and Maypole take the title. First let's start by saying how fantastic Maypole have done, in most seasons we would already be champions but what they have done in their first season is amazing and you have to say nothing but well done to them. In regards to ourselves it has been a long journey, we are not your average Sunday league team , we play for a totally different meaning and Sands will also continue to stand out as support for baby loss awareness. We started this journey as a team 6 years ago, and we have been at the bottom, we have been on the end of some beatings as a team but the journey and the message always stayed the same. We have built and built and we now find ourselves as a competitive football team with some great players and we have a chance to achieve something that was once a distant dream, it's never been about winning titles but to win one would be a huge moment for the club. We look ahead to Sunday and we will for sure leave it all on the park in search of that trophy and as always If we are good enough we can do it. No matter what happens after 12.30pm Sunday we will come together as a team and celebrate what has been a great season, a great journey where we have done our angels in the sky proud. We hope to see you all there to support the lads on the pitch ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’™

Midweek loss against a much improved team, a fairly even 1st half with both teams hitting the woodwork, but 2 mistakes in the 2nd half were duly punished and we were unable to break down a solid defence. We go again for the last 2 games of the Season with much to play for. Good luck to Emporia for their remaining games in the league and cup ๐Ÿ‘
