Just a thank you to the helpers today who did a great job in getting the green surroundings ready for the start of the season.
You all played a great part doing your bit.
Many thanks
Nick..
So the bowling season is once again just around the corner. The green looks fabulous and ready. But the surrounds need a good tidy up.
If any of our bowls members could spare an hour. This saturday 17th from around 10.30am it would be of great help in getting us game ready.
Social distance tidy up of course. Nothing heavy. Just a tidy and sweep
Many thanks in advance
Nick.
Good Evening Members..
Well what a year !!!!
Firstly id like to offer my thoughts and best wishes to our members that will be spending their first Christmas without a loved one to share the festivities.
Also i am aware of a couple of our members who are fighting a serious illness at this time, again id like to say we all hope you make a speedy recovery, our thoughts are with you and your families.
Well as i said what a year 2020 has been, this damn virus has robbed us of our normal social life and kept many folk apart, hopefully now the vaccine is insight we may soon all be back to some normality and enjoying our bowling again and the social side of our great club.
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL AND YOUR FAMILIES

Chairman.
Please circulate this message to all your contacts so we receive feedback from as many players and officials as possible
Myself and the W&W committee have conducted a review of the current Business Houses league and have proposed several changes to assist clubs in putting teams out and hopefully growing the game further. Understandably, after a year of not playing bowls I am sure we are all concerned as to what we come back to in 2021 and hopefully this will provide an alternative option for clubs if they so wish to explore it.
The Business Houses league has been played under the W&W association for many years and we are looking to rename it the Warwick & Worcester Birmingham league going forward so that it is more recognisable to the area it is played. Games will continue to be played on a Saturday but we are looking at a new start time of 11:30am. This would avoid clashes with the main league that starts at 3.00 pm as well as other sporting events outside of bowls. Please bear in mind this is just a proposal and I would welcome feedback from clubs.
The other main change would be to reduce the playing numbers to 8 a side from the current 10 a side. This would give teams a greater chance of putting a side out as during 2019 there were several matches called off due to player availability. There would also be an unlimited number of players being able to double up and play in the main leagues team (if applicable).
Scoring would remain the same (1 point per player win etc) and clubs would not need to have a team in the main league to enter into the Birmingham league.
Depending on the number of teams in the league, a separate cup competition would be set up.
All these proposals have been discussed with the current Business Houses teams already. We are now looking for further feedback from the broader membership so that decisions can be made ahead of the 2021 season so please send any comments to myself at [email protected] if possible before December 14th.
Many thanks
