Due to unforeseen circumstances, our manager Jordan has had to step away from his role. The club will now be run by Ryan Burns on an interim basis until the end of the season.
With only two games played in six weeks due to the British weather, the lads showed real character. A huge comeback win against Sporting saw us come from 2–0 down, without an out-and-out goalkeeper, to win 5–2. The effort from the boys was second to none.
Heading into our final game before Christmas with several regulars missing, we still gave a strong account of ourselves but ultimately came up short against Bordesley.
With the first half of the season now complete, we’re looking forward to mounting a serious push for a top-two finish and a strong run in the cup. The squad is in a great place, with a few new faces set to add quality.
We’re aiming to finish the season STRONG 💪⚽
No player of the month for Nov & Dec due to not enough game time.

Monthly round up ⚽️ A very mixed bag this month as we started against top of the league Sands United who dealt us our first big blow of the season losing 4-1 😞 We never really got a foothold and Sands dominated which was very frustrating
Next we faced Maypole Lions at home and came away with a well-deserved 4-1 victory 🙌 Both teams had questionable penalties early on but we battled hard to get the win 💪 Cameron Thompson was on fire 🔥 scoring twice, James Edwards scored from the penalty spot ⚽️ and Hayden scored a very well worked goal 🎯
The away game at Sheldon Rovers was frustrating with the referee causing problems for both teams 😠 We never got our heads in the game and got dragged into silly decisions on and off the pitch
In the cup we faced Greenwood United from the league above 🏆 We took a 1-0 lead into half time but their class showed in the second half 👏 We went out with our heads held high knowing we gave it our all ✊
Back to league action against Bordesley Ravens who gave us our tightest game so far 🦅 Holly Lane picked up a 5-4 win 🎉 We were on top for about a third of the game and Bordesley gave us a fright towards the end 😳 There was confusion with the referee announcing 5-4 not 6-4 but either way we got the three points ✅
To finish a busy five weeks we faced Sheldon Rovers again and this time walked away 3-0 winners 🥳 We could have scored more with chances missed in both halves
Manager Jordan Pink says “I am so proud of these lads 🙌 A few rough results came our way but this group does not know the word quit ❌ They fought for each other every single player has had to dig deep to get us back on form 💪 I want to thank those who have stuck with me even without many minutes and made selection a real headache 🤯 I have never been around a team that wants to win every game like it’s their last and I’m lucky to lead them every week ⚽️🔥”

Monthly Round-Up - End of Aug/September
Pre-season ended with a big 9–1 win before the new campaign kicked off away at G&C. Unfortunately, the season opener didn’t go our way as we fell to a 3–1 defeat. We started slowly and never really grew into the game.
After a week’s break and time to reset in training, we returned against a strong Grove United side. Despite their quality, the lads dug deep to grind out a 4–2 victory. Jake Danaher shone with a Man of the Match performance, leading by example and settling into the squad brilliantly.
Next up was Emporia United, where we produced a confident 4–1 win, making it 8 goals in 2 games. Despite wholesale changes due to holidays and injuries, Cameron and Callum both bagged a brace. James Edwards was dominant at the back and earned himself Man of the Match.
We rounded off the month against a tough Sporting FC Open Age side on a testing pitch. Callum gave us the lead with his 4th goal in 4 games before Sporting equalised just before half-time. After some stern words from Jordan, the lads came out firing. Jake Constable scored with a superb long-range free kick and James Edwards sealed it with a penalty, giving us a well-deserved 3–1 win and another 3 points.
Manager Jordan Pink said:
“This team is growing and showing that we’re not here just to make up the numbers. The lads who stayed and the new ones who’ve come in are all doing brilliantly. You can already see the squad bonding more every week. I’m so grateful to the players who stuck with me through this transition — they’ve given everything to make it a smooth process, and the new lads have only added to an already fantastic group.”
We head into October sitting 2nd in the league with plenty more to come.
💚🤍 Up the Lane!

Final Words for the season from the new manager - Jordan Pink:
Our season has wrapped up with last weeks draw away at Sheldon Locomotive, our first season together has been eventful to say the least we have had some great results and some poor ones but I couldn’t be prouder of where we are now as a team.
Faces have changed throughout the season and we thank everyone who was on the journey along the way, I feel that next season we can only get stronger and push on from where we are and I will do my best for the club to make sure we get to that destination with hard work on and off the pitch.
We strive to make ourselves the end goal for all of the younger lads in the club to want to play in the team and we will develop players throughout the different levels available at the club to do that.
We would like to thank Scott for his hard work and for bringing in a great bunch of lads this season who have really enjoyed playing together for the most part we have made a real team due to Scott’s open approach to accepting everyone in the door and giving them the chance to work hard to break in to the team.
We will confirm dates for pre season in due course, if you would like the chance to join the team and play with a great group of lads please feel free to message us on socials, we will be arranging try outs once we return for pre season.

Holly Lane United 3-7
Word from the Manager - Scott Maycock
Very disappointing performance. We was not very reactive to anything and Highgate wanted it more and deserved their win. Felt the 2nd half was slightly better but at 5-2 at half time it was important for us to get the next goal which we didn’t and it was a tall order for us to even attempt a comeback. Onto the next game with a few weeks rest.

Holly Lane United 5-2

Really happy with the first half performance. Could have and should have been more than 4 at half time. Felt we dominated the game for 75% of it however the 25 minutes after half time felt we showed them to much respect and allowed them to get themselves back into the game by turning off after half time. Once we got through that sticky phase of the game we took control again and added a 5th to put the game to bed. Some really positive feedback performances from Dom, Jak, Reece, Nicky and a MOTM performance from Hudson
