Bromsgrove Bears Girls & Women’s Basketball Program

*WOMENS NATIONAL LEAGUE*

Open sessions will run for the next two Wednesdays from 8pm-10pm
in South Birmingham, for women looking to play competitive basketball at National League Level in Division two of the Basketball England League.

If you are looking for a competitive and dynamic team to become a part of please get in touch and join us to prepare for the 2022/23 Season ahead.

💫Semis Finals Pending💫

The YBL Women’s team will take part in their semi final tomorrow morning at 11.30am Vs Lasers at North Birmingham Academy.

The team consists of experience and youth players from the pathway at The Bears, and really promotes the younger players gaining invaluable experience from these games.

The women are really looking forward to getting out on the court 🏀 after beating City of Birmingham in their previous game a couple of weeks back.

We wish both teams all of the best and will be backing The Bears 🐻 all the way. Have a great game all.

Huge congrats for ‘The Bears’ U15’s girls team, making it to the YBL finals which will be held tonight vs Wolverhampton Slam @ Nechells Well-being centre, 7pm tip off.

*BROMSGROVE BEARS TRY OUTS*

The Bears try outs will commence from tomorrow evening through to Thursday evening.

Come and try out for one of The Bears National League Teams and be part of a fast growing, family orientated club in the South Birmingham Area of the City.

Junior teams entering the National League this season are as follows:
U14’s Girls -
Wednesday 25/05/22 6-8pm

U14’s Boys -
Tuesday 24/04/22 -5.30-7pm

U16’s Girls -
Wednesday 25/05/2022 6-8pm

U16’s Boys x 2
Tuesday 24/05/22 7-9pm

U18’s Boys
Thursday 26/05/2022 7-8.30m

ALL TRY OUTS ARE FREE OF CHARGE AND ARE OPEN TO ALL PLAYERS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CLUB.

Please support in her journey tonight at 6pm representing England U14’s in Serbia. What an invaluable experience for this young lady which we are all very supportive of and will be cheering you on.

Kosi has been with the Bromsgrove bears for 3 years as an 10/11 year old.
Since returning after covid Kosi had grown to 6'1 and has come back more than ever, determined to take basketball more seriously.

Kosi has skipped playing national league after playing U13’s mixed girls and boys YBL this season and U15’s girls YBL, as well as playing her first local league women’s game on Sunday scoring her first senior women’s points as well as gaining countless rebounds for the womens team. Kosi has never played National league basketball and has gone straight into playing international. However, The Bears, are entering both U14’s and U16’s girls National League this year so Kosi will be able to experience playing at this level with her team mates.

Kosi was late to attend the Aspire regional training, however when they saw her stature and athletic ability they have given her a wonderful opportunity to play for England U14s girls.

Bromsgrove Bears are wishing all the best with her England journey. 🏀🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Try outs for the following Junior National League Teams for the forthcoming 2022/23 Season are as follows;

Please be aware that all try outs are for anyone within and outside of the club that are interested in playing National League Basketball and would like to further enhance their skills and knowledge of the game.

A huge congratulations is in order for Bromsgrove Bears U15/U13’s Youth Basketball League Player, Kosi Ananyu, who has been selected for the U14’s England Squad that will travel to Dundee at the weekend to take part in ‘The Tri Nations Tournament’.

Kosi has been working so hard in training and games which has paid off during the Aspire Camps and Super Region Camps.

Well done Kosi we will all be cheering you on and are so very proud of you. Keep doing you.
