ITβS WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY AND WE WANT HARBORNE TO KNOW JUST WHAT THIS MEANS TO US! π
π Our wonderful new General Manager Bret and Bridge, our Fitness Manager, share a love of Les Mills and a deep commitment to mental health and wellbeing. Together with Lily, Ian, Dan our Duty Managers and the whole team, we want Harborne to be a place where everyone feels supported, connected and part of a community. π
π This is what Bridge has to sayβ¦
βOver the past four years, Iβve organised my annual Les Mills A Thon at The Wyre Forest Leisure Centre, raising money for MIND mental health. The event has grown to over 40 instructors, 400 participants, 9 Les Mills programmes and 4 hours of non-stop fitness, all united for one cause. π
Everyone who attends has their own story. Some share it openly; others carry it quietly. Teaching on that stage, watching hundreds of people move together and support one another, is breathtaking. You can feel the emotion in the room. Those moments remind me exactly why I do this.β
Bridge now wants to bring that same passion and partnership with MIND to Harborne. Mental health affects so many lives, often silently, and helping people feel connected, supported and less alone can make a real difference.
βAt Places Leisure Harborne, we want people to know weβre more than a fitness centre. We care about our members, our community and the people behind every smile. We want Harborne to be a place where people belong, connections grow and wellbeing matters just as much as fitness.β π
π Weβre incredibly lucky to have Bret, a fantastic General Manager and Les Mills instructor who also brings valuable mental health experience and qualifications. Weβre excited about what we can achieve together!
π Keep your eyes peeled for our next Les Mills A Thon in 2027!
Fitness is about more than movement. Itβs about people, connection and making a difference. π
