Action Indoor Sports Birmingham CIC is disappointed that the BBC reported on a protest made outside our gates on Friday, without any fact check being conducted or effort to contact the legal leaseholders.

As a community sports facility, Action Indoor Sports Birmingham CIC has been a 'home' to many clubs and community organisations at the site since 2014. These include the NGB of Action Indoor Cricket for England (which delivers more games of cricket than any other facility in the country), Activ8 Trampoline Club, Birmingham Twisters, Sentre, Boldmere St. Michael's FC, Sutton Royals Netball Club, Holly Lane/Sportsco to name a few.
The Company has also worked with partners and other specialist service providers to maximise the community benefits from the asset, including The Rotary and Foundations 4 the Future and Warwickshire Cricket Foundation.

The Company has invested over £500,000 of private finance since taking ownership of the lease at Stockland Green Leisure Centre, rescuing it for the community when the Council could no longer afford to keep it open, and taking on its staff. The Directors are unpaid or on minimum wage, and the shareholders of the company have never drawn a dividend in the company's 11 year history.

Working closely with Birmingham City Council (at a time when private funding into community sport is most needed), the Company aims to continue to invest in the site and generate new opportunities for participation.

Action Indoor Sports Birmingham CIC is, as it always has been, ready to work with and support good projects that benefit local people.
It will not, however, work with organisations that:
Refuse to pay bills
Disrespect staff
Breach obligations
Refuse to provide evidence of valid insurance
Spread false information
Have a destructive impact on sports participation.

We have had so many messages from people asking how they can get involved in Indoor Cricket over the past few weeks. So let’s break it down for you: 1. Enter your club side into a invitational competition. Check out our previous posts for the different competitions taking place between now and April 2024. Invitational competitions can be entered by any club across the UK. To enter please visit our website www.actionindoorcricketengland.com The competitions are a great way to get noticed and invited to the next level of indoor cricket. Boys, Girls and Mixed teams are all welcome to take part. 2. Register yourself as an Individual. If you are looking to take part in competitions but your team is not able to enter than drop us an email at [email protected] Give us as much details as possible including name, age and location. We will then try and find you a team or will create a team if there are enough people registering without a side. 3. Drop us an email. Email us at [email protected] with any questions related to indoor cricket and how you can get involved. We will find the best way to help you. 4. Join our Intro to Indoor session this Sunday for free. This Sunday at Action Indoor Sports Birmingham there is a free indoor cricket taster session. This takes place between 12pm and 4pm. All ages and abilities for boys and girls are welcome. It’s a great way to give it a go and meet some of our fantastic coaches too.
