We wrapped up our third season yesterday with our Showcase End of Season Tournament over at Birmingham County HQ , Ray Hall Lane. It was a huge event with 20 teams taking part and 80 games played.
Fifteen existing teams were joined by five new ones who wanted a taste of what this league is like. Pleased to report it was a great success. Ex Lioness Rachel Unitt joined us to help present the tournament's trophies
Well done Collingham, British Allsorts, Castle Donington and Boldmere St Michaels Bears topping their tables on the day.
Rachel then helped present all our league season trophies . Players of each squad's season were individually honoured , fair play awards presented to five teams leading in the fair play spirit shown , medals for everyone , as well as the runners up and winners in our three divisions .
As we always say we are all winners as we are all playing and walking onto that football pitch wearing club colours when back in the day many of us were not even allowed to play .. so is the absolute winner now ..

Thanks to walkingfootball.com , the fantastic Becki and Ian for capturing the day , thanks to the five refs , we needed an extra one to give breaks due to the intense fixture runs , thanks to Fay who was our very own Carol Vordeman , Julie on the blast horn timer , Dee who was running around and getting everyone where they should be and Jay who has no voice today after the speaker gave up it's battery life.
Pictures will be posted when we have them and they really will capture the day perfectly. Roll on our September league start. The planning for that very much starts next ⚽⚽⚽ thank you everyone for making it a fantastic season πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
