Semi Final result and report from 01/03/2015:

Chaddesley 1 - 0 Callowbrook Blue
Some cup semi or another.
Chadds returned to the home of football Longmore to entertain Callowbrook.
Having being buoyed by recent cup quarter and semi success the posh boys of leafy Chadds were keen to put on a better show against Matt Superstar Perry Callowbrook side.
Callowbrook had shocked Chadds in their first meeting. Callowbrook had dominated the game and Chadds scraped a draw god only knows how. Chadds wanting to prove everyone wrong who were writing the old boys off and in a squad devoid of superstars.
Most of the pre match prep centered around the simply lovely new training tops that had arrived from the kind hearted entrepreneur Matt Guisey Guise. The boys were chuffed to nuts all except Guise as the useless management had put his old company logo on the useless feckwits. Lego hair also concerned about the lack of thought as black shorts and blue training tops apparently clash. Yet more evidence he is a raging homo. Summo also saying he would feel more comfortable in black as it's "more slimming"
Callowbrook arrived early and were warming up in preparation of the big game long ahead of chadds. Groovers in particular warm up slightly worrying as he just held his breath for 20 mins to prove he could squeeze into a large.
Chadds shuffled the pack again in a bid to nullify the Callowbrook pacey front 4. The posh lads actually started without an ounce of pace in the side but with the strength and footballing brains to try and outwit the far younger Callowbrook side.
Chadds started with Ron Weasley in goal in a fetching 80's goalie shirt (not as fetching as the Callowbrook pink one which Lego hair had massive shirt envy over). Defense of R Ash, Summo, Matt the new lad and tenacious Guise. Left mid Rocco the wonder kid. Rhino right. Pricey, Groovers D Ash. Leaving Viking Beard up top who has apparently been selected for the British police team (I presume this relates to either show jumping, gurning or Beard growing?)
The game started at a fast pace with both sides enjoying spells of possession. Callowbrook looking for long diagonals over the Chadds rear guard and Chadds looking for balls into feet and building through Viking Beard.
Chadds defense seemed to have the front line of Callowbrook under control with excellent communication and work rate.
Rocco looked dangerous on the ball in stark contrast to Rhino who was having a shocker clearly still a little the worse for where after a night of champagne and hookers in Stourbridge.
Groovers battling hard with their big centre midfielder. At times it looked like 2 bison in a david Attenborough documentary.
Damo picked up a booking early doors for something I'm still not sure what.
Chadds thought they had taken the lead when Damo latched onto a long kick from Crook, took it down well and finished superbly. Only for the lineo to raise his flag despite the ball bouncing and the ginger man mountain running past 2 defenders to control it before shooting.
First half was a battle with both sides Not afraid to stick a foot in.
R Ash took the old let them know you are there line a bit far booting the winger in the air about 10 times in 10 mins. 3 weetatabix obviously too much for the portly right back.
Chadds absorbed the pressure well with the rock solid defense rarely troubled.
Summo who was bossing the back line made one mistake slipping on a sausage roll and under hitting a back pass leaving Perry one on one who curled his shot wide.
Callowbrook looked a bit shaky at the back as Chadds countered and the midfield looked a bit rattled by Chadds old boys work rate and hunger.
Half time arrived 0 0
A half time change brought on Nath for Groovers who had picked up a knock from the horn of the Callowbrook bison.
(He only mentioned in 109 times since)
Viking Beard dropped into midfield leaving nath to cause havoc up top.
This helped Chadds a lot as we had an out ball. Dan had done a great job but he isn't the quickest up top. What he lacks in pace he makes up for in facial hair.
Rhino also was almost sober now so he decided to have a good too.
This meant Chadds kept the ball far better and looked far more threatening going forward.
Again the 2nd half was a close hard fought one with both sides working hard.
Hot headed Guise picked up a yellow for a pathetically timed challenge on the Callowbrook winger.
Nath linked well with Rhino, Dan and Rocco creating a few half chances. 1 header he headed woefully over. Another couple of chances from the edge of the box and a few last ditch tackles stopped Chadds taking the lead the pressure deserved.
With 15 left and Guise sailing close to a red Lego hair replaced the talismanic left back.
Sometime after a free kick was awarded and with free kick master Guise off Viking Beard assumed responsibility. The lumbersexual placing the ball before confidently smashing it into the top corner from fully 25 yards giving the tall keeper very little chance.
Callowbrook fought hard to get back into it but failed to create anything of real significance.
A few hot challenges towards the end as it got a little niggly. The callowbrook centre half in particular picking up a yellow after 3 men had tried to kick Nath in the air and failed. The late challenge winning foul of the day hands down. No mean feat after some of the challenges during the game.
Chadds held strong and progress to the final of another cup with another pleasing clean sheet against a good attacking Callowbrook side.
Another pleasing result and another final for the old boys who keep being written off and told we aren't anything special or to worry about.
Good luck to Callowbrook for the rest of the season who tested and pushed us right till the final whistle.
Also a special mention to the little lineo who was all of about 12. He certainly stood out as the best official on the day. I think the socks I had on were probably older than him but he officiated well.

Report by Chadds defender Matt Guise.

Late result from 08/02/2015:
Bromsgrove United 2 Callowbrook Blues 0.

Disappointing defeat to 10 man Bromsgrove who will probably go onto win the league. A free kick and a strike from the edge of the box gave them a win after the blues missed a couple of chances.

Match report from Callowbrook Blues 4-1 win over Drakes Broughton, in the last 16 of the Minor County cup.

After last week’s awful result, Callowbrook Blues were back in more cup action against Drakes Broughton of the Worcester league. The Blues were looking to bounce back with a win, but without key players Dan Douse, Luke Douse, Dayle Kenny and Jack Florence, it was going to be tough. With us only having ten players at 8:45, Josh Davis was drafted in from Worcester to play for the first time in a while to give us eleven players.
It was a bright start from the Blues on a pretty awful pitch, but there was not much going on in terms of chances. Callowbrook then won a free kick 40 yards out, Matthew Perry stepped up and hit a good strike which the keeper pushed out, but only to Dan Moore and the right back managed to back heel a volley into the net from 6 yards. 0-1
Moments later the Blues made it two, a nice ball forward from Tom Lowe to Matthew Perry allowed him to turn the defender and hit a left footed strike towards the goal, the Drakes goalkeeper managed to let the shot go through him and into the net. 0-2
Callowbrook then virtually wrapped the game up, when Matthew Perry cut inside a defender a hit a great cross field pass towards Jack Gauntlett, who volleyed the ball first time straight into the right hand corner of the goal, a beautiful strike. 0-3
Drakes Broughton then got a goal back just after half time, but if im honest I cant really remember how it happened, I was too busy eyeing up one of their supporters, but the goal was met with a loud cheer and they thought they were back in the game. 1-3
The game then got scrappy with the ball just being hit long by both sides, without too many chances being created by either team. Then with 3 minutes to go, Matthew Perry wrapped the game up for good, picking up a loose ball, taking it past 3 defenders and cutting inside and sliding the ball into the corner of the net. 1-4
A good win in difficult conditions and without many key players, The Blues are now into the quarter finals.
