A massive congratulations to Suliman Wazir, who stepped into the ring this weekend and came away S3 Cadet Champion

Weeks of hard training, discipline and dedication behind the scenes make it all worthwhile when you get your hand raised at the end.
A big thank you to all our Cobra gym members and students who have helped, supported and pushed Suli through out the fight camp and also to coaches .cobramuaythai Tayo “The Beast” Zahir Muhammed Zahir/Leko Wright Umar Khan for all their efforts combined to help Suliman get the job done.

Special thanks to Suliman’s parents for their continued support and commitment throughout his journey.

And finally a big thank you to Raf Hussain for the opportunity and also to House Muay Thai and for welcoming us down for sparring. It all played a part in getting him ready and prepped for fight.

WEEKEND THAI BOXING CLASSES.

At Cobra Muay Thai, we provide Muay Thai training for both adults and children in a friendly, disciplined and supportive environment. Our current classes run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. However, we’ve found that many young people are unable to attend due to evening commitments, including mosque classes, after school clubs and other family responsibilities.

To help make training more accessible, we’re pleased to be launching the Cobra Youth Academy – Weekend Beginners Programme for children aged 6–15 years.

Times: Saturday & Sunday 10-11am
Start date. Saturday 12th Sept 2026

A big shoutout to Umar Cobra Khan Umar Khan , who stepped back into the ring after a break from competing and bagged himself the big W.

Ring rust is real, and it takes a lot of courage, self belief and commitment to step back in again. Umar did that, and delivered an entertaining fight that had us all engaged from start to finish.

Well done, Umar. It was great to see you back in action.

Heading out to Thailand and watching prepare to step onto the big stage at ONE Friday Fights is something I’ll never forget. The behind-the-scenes production, weigh-ins, and face-offs created unforgettable memories for us both.

Unfortunately, in the first round Tayo was caught by a straight right that sent him backwards and dislocated his thumb. He took the count and continued, but after being caught with a hook in the next exchange, the fight was stopped.

This is the reality of fighting in 4oz gloves—one shot can change everything in an instant. But this is only another chapter in his journey.

The result does not define him.

I’m incredibly proud of Tayo for the sacrifices he has made, the discipline he has shown, and the hard work that earned him an opportunity like this. Regardless of the result, nobody can take away what he achieved by reaching this stage.

As we always say, “Allah is the Best of Planners, what is meant for you will never miss you, and what misses you was never meant for you.” Everything happens for a reason.

A huge thank you to the coaches at Silk Muay Thai for arranging the fight, providing this opportunity, and leading the training camp. Also to .

Finally, thank you to everyone who tuned in, travelled to Thailand, sent messages, and showed support for Tayo before and after the fight. Your encouragement means more than words can express.
