Coventry Cobras

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the closing of the Cobras YBC.

From its beginnings as Nuneaton Vipers with just 3 members, this was a club that always performed well.

It grew well and competed well through its history. Welcoming any transfers and clubs that had no home, folding into ours with a happy welcome as the young athletes were the most important thing. Sporting Tamworth/Rugby Rebels.

Covid and the changes at Nuneaton Bowl forced a move originally to Coventry and then to Sundays at Acocks Green as joining of YBCs was refused.

With athletes transferring and Universities a long way from us beckoning we have come to the point with the membership where it is better for our athletes to let them go elsewhere to continue their fun and competitiveness.

We have produced many fine athletes of all standards including most of the County Youth Teams for multiple years and some very good Youth and Adult Team England athletes. With our Final athlete to earn and wear the Youth England shirt just this year for the first time at the Youth Triple Crown in Scotland. So we end as we maintained with high standards of athletes who still simply enjoy to bowl.

Our remaining athletes have been transferred to other YBCs to be able to roll this year’s Nationals.

Our athletes are and always have been our focus. We wish them luck in the sport for the future...

Due to Athlete Coach abscences due to competitions and 2 weekends of Youth Counties.

No YBC until July the 12th when we will discuss the summer break.

VHS WK4 June 06th so entries need to be rolled at YBC this weekend.
