AFC Chelmsley Ladies 5–1 Kineton United Ladies FC

With a positive mindset following last week’s victory, we set the standards high as we looked to make it two consecutive wins of the season. With positive words from Pete and the coaching staff before kick-off, the team were fully prepared and ready to go.

Within the first few minutes of the game, we took the lead and from there the goals just kept flowing. The team continued to play with confidence, creating chances and putting Kineton under pressure.

Kineton managed to get one back from the penalty spot after a decision went their way, with their player calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

We continued to push forward and went into half time with a 5–1 lead, putting ourselves in a fantastic position going into the second half.

After another positive team talk from Pete and the coaching staff at the break, we went back out looking for more. We continued with the high press and high defensive line, putting pressure on Kineton and creating opportunities, but unfortunately we just couldn't find the back of the net in the second half.

Despite not adding to the scoreline, the team continued to show a positive mindset throughout the half. Everyone backed each other on the pitch, continued to communicate and worked together right until the final whistle. ❤️🖤

A special mention also goes to some of our dual-signed U21s, who played some of their first minutes for the Ladies team. They were all brilliant, held their own and put in fantastic performances throughout the game. It's great to see our younger players stepping up and making their mark within the team. 👏❤️🖤

Athletic Sparta Women 3–4 AFC Chelmsley Ladies

After conceding the first goal, we showed great team spirit to fight our way back into the game and get ourselves level.

At half time, the score was 2-2. We had also played the final 15 minutes of the first half with 10 players, but showed great determination to see it through to the half-time whistle.

After a positive team talk at the break, we came out on top in the second half and grabbed two quick goals to put us in a strong position.

The communication on the pitch was excellent, with positivity staying high throughout the game. Everyone was backing eachother as a team, encouraging one another and working together right until the final whistle.❤️🖤

We wish Athletic Sparta Women the best of luck for the rest of the season.

At half time, it was 5–0 to the home side. After a positive half-time team talk, we came out stronger in the second half and showed great character, getting ourselves on the scoresheet.
The second half ended 1–1, with the final score finishing 6–1 to the home side.
The team are a new and young side, and despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the second half. We wish the team the very best of luck for the rest of the season. ❤️🖤

Meet the Players!
Another of our new signings now - is our new goalkeeper Elle-Louise Phipps!

Elle is impressed us with her shot-stopping in several tournaments earlier on in the summer, and it was a no-brainer to sign her up.

Such is her commitment to the team, that Elle has to get two trains, taking two hours to get to training and matches - we're extremely grateful for her dedication in joining us and looking forward to her helping us keep some clean sheets this season!

Welcome to Colts, Elle!

Meet the Players!
Next up is our pacy defender Caitlyn King.

Caitlyn's been with Colts for several years now, having played open age with us since she was eligible to join. She can play anywhere across the backline, and her pace helps provide cover for our other defenders. She averages a goal-line clearance every other game - hopefully she won't have to make that many this season!

Welcome back, Caitlyn!

NEXT MATCH!
The wait for the start of the new season is almost over! With our final pre-season match under our belt, and a couple of interclub games against our Under 18s, we begin our 26/27 campaign in Division 3 of the Birmingham County Women's League this Sunday.

Come on down and support the ladies as we make the trip over to Highgate United Women in our first game of the season. Kick-off 2pm. See you there!

Meet the Players!
Next up is our under-18 hotshot Trin.

Trin is a direct, fast paced attacking midfielder, and has stepped up to open age from our youth pathway in the past two seasons. Last season Trin was top scorer for our under 17s, and in our final match of the season against Birmingham Medsoc, grabbed a goal, assist and player of the match. She's continued that form with another goal in her only pre-season friendly for us.

Trin is proof that the pathway from our under-18s to open age is there for any young players who want to step up. Several of our u17s turned out for the ladies last season.

The under 18s will be playing in the Premier Division of the Central Warwickshire Girls Football League, and are always looking for new players. They finished 4th in Under 17s Division One last time out, so it'll be a good step up for the girls this season. Any youth player who is aged 16 or above would be able to dual sign and play for the under 18s on the Saturday, and us on the Sunday!

Welcome back, Trin!
