Last Sunday,we made the short trip over to local rivals Olton Ravens, who themselves needed a result in order to stave off relegation.

Olton got off to a bright start with us allowing their midfield far too much control, with simple through balls to break our lines, they were denied an opener from being off-side, but a shot from the edge of the area saw them to take the lead. For the rest of the first half, we matched them. We are denied a penalty by their defender going to ground and the ref buying it, when Eden had done her with a quick change of feet, but we were good value for our equaliser - a long ball from Kelsea (POTM) through to Eden who calmly slotted past their on-rushing GK. We were unable to hold on til half time though, with us switching off failing to clear a corner on its second wave. HT 2-1.

The second half was symptomatic of our performances throughout the season - whether it's a lack of stamina, or defending deeper, we allowed their midfield to dominate higher up the pitch, with them adding a couple, before a last minute penalty. The 5-1 scoreline flattered the hosts in the end, but our second half deep set allowed them to be worthy of the win.

We wish Olton all the best in their final match of the season.

For us, the inevitability of relegation to division 2 is all but confirmed. We have three league matches of the season left, but this weekend we travel to Bilston away in a friendly which gives us the opportunity to try things differently and experiment a little.

A tough day on the road last Sunday, with a resounding win for Balls to Cancer over in Tipton.

Despite missing several key players, we were confident going into this match on the back of some improved performances, and our first win of the season last week.

We constantly put ourselves under pressure pretty much from the off, and BTC were 2-0 up after 30 minutes. Our goal came instanteously from our kick off after their second goal, with Anna putting a ball over the top and Beth and Jade pressurising their defence, and Beth slotting home her first goal of the season. Despite us having more minor chances and a few corners, with Eden terrorising their LB, BTC got another to calm their nerves before half time. HT 3-1.

Second half was more of the same - we were too easily cut open in midfield by simple passes, not closing down them quickly enough, and our only chance came when Jade hit the crossbar. BTC scored at will - including twice in a, rather forgetful, minute. FT 8-1

It's a disappointing result to take after our more recent results, but one from which we can re-group, dust ourselves off, learn from our mistakes and come back stronger.

Mia made some good saves to keep the scoreline down to single digits, and Tammy put in a tenacious POTM performance, despite playing out of position at CDM.

We wish BTC all the best in the rest of their season.

Thanks to all our supporters who made the trip to cheer us on.

We go again next week with our next fixture being a local derby against Olton Ravens this Sunday.

See you all then!

WE'VE ONLY GONE AND DONE IT! OUR FIRST GOALS OF 2026 AND OUR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON!

We welcomed Birmingham Medsoc to the Onward Club on a glorious Spring afternoon, in a must-win league game in order to stave off relegation, and a match where we could build on our recent performances, despite not picking up any points.

We came out of the blocks with a determinated attitude, and were rewarded from some fantastic interplay between our front players, being fed by centre midfield captain Anna, leading us into a 2-0 lead with goals from Jade (assist: Anna), and Dani (A: Eden) breaking the lines with some excellent through balls. Medsoc pulling one back, but we tormented their defence again, with a Dani shot parried by their keeper and Eden slotting home. Medsoc pulled another goal back with some route one fast feet cutting straight through our central players. HT 3-2.

Second half - we nullified their attacking threats with our back three being formidable, and our midfield being more defensive, trying to nullify their attacking threat. Despite us creating more chances of our own, there was no score in the second half. FT: 3-2

Lots of positives to take from this game: the back three of Kia, Kelsea, Jess and our GK Mia, were all immense in keeping their striker and wingers quiet; Anna in the first half, connected defense with attack with plomb; Jodie and Loz helped nullify their star player in the second half.

The attacking triumvirate of Jade, Eden and Dani (POTM) will take all the plaudits - each with a goal to their name - they were a constant thorn in the side of their defense, feeding off each other with some superb one touch interplay, and a genuine threat we need to channel in our remaining matches of the season.

The ladies got their first win of the season - our first league goals since November - and maybe, just maybe, the beginning of our Great Escape for survival in Division One.

Medsoc can hold their heads high, despite their depleated numbers, as they gave us a good game and we'll meet again next month at their ground.

Thanks to all our supporters who came along to cheer on the ladies. Your support means the world to us, and we are constantly grateful for you being there to encourage us each and every week.

But this win is dedicated to all the 15 ladies who wore the shirt and contributed to our win, and all the ladies who have played for us this season. We are stronger today than we have ever been all season, and it's down to each and every one of us.

We begin our Spring tour of other lower league rivals with an away match vs Ball to Cancer next Sunday. Hopefully we'll see you there and we can put up another great performance.

Yesterday saw us take on mid-table Rubery at the Onward Club in a match the ladies were up for, despite our league table position and current form.

We continued with our new formation, which the ladies are still getting used to, but they are adapting to it brilliantly and it is definitely making us a more solid team, with some excellent passing and phases of play on show at times. We could've gone in at half time in front, but an offside flag ruled out Jade's opener, after a through ball by Dani. HT 0-0.

Early in the second half, Rubery scored with their only shot on target in the game, which came after an injury to Emma in goal. The ref saw it as a 50/50 challenge despite Emma being down in agony and forced to go off injured. Thanks to the two Rubery players who help providing medical attention. We wish Emma well in her recovery.

After the goal, Rubery went ultra defensive (playing 7 at the back at one point), and despite us knocking on the door for the remainder of the match, we were unable to find a breakthrough. FT 0-1

POTM was captain Anna who bossed the midfield, especially in the second half, when Rubery were unable to get out of their half for a prolonged period and helped recycle the ball into dangerous wide areas.

We have the return match against Rubery next month and wish them well in their remaining games.

All of the ladies can be pleased with their performance and hold their heads high despite another defeat. It feels like the hard work of playing as a collective team is coming together - the goals and W will come. We still have 6 league games left of our season, and we are back in action this Sunday, when we welcome Birmingham Medsoc to the Onward Club.

Yesterday saw us take on Tividale in a friendly on Easter Sunday. We trialled our new formation, along with trying out players in new positions. The good news: we scored our first goals of 2026 - but unfortunately not the result we wanted.

The first half we were the better team - and lucky not to be in front at half time. Two goals from debutant Jodie, including a calmly taken penalty - who was ably supported by Jess and Trin in attack - were a handful for their defence and a cross-cum-shot from Poppy drew us level, going into the break 3-3.

Second half we allowed their midfield far too much room to dictate play and our midfield did not close them down quick enough to allow them to break our lines. The main difference - their through balls worked, and we were profligate with our chances. Full time: 3-5.

A lot of positives to take from today's match - the new formation worked and allowed us to be more productive in the middle and in attack. Our pace up front will a handful for defences. All the players put a shift in and can be proud of their efforts

POTM: Jodie who already has fitted into the squad seamlessly and will be a great addition to the team.

Thanks to our supporters who came over to Coventry to support us - it's always appreciated, and thanks for the ladies who helped us out in raising a team today.

We wish Tividale all the best for the rest of their season.

We look forward to a home match next Sunday - at home to Rubery.
