Good win for the lads yesterday in blustery conditions
Game started pretty slow, but with the wind we started to play, lewis and toby causing problems down the wings and evan was in a battle with a strong centre half, which I thought he won. Played the lone striker role really well. The lads took the lead 10 mins in. A good mazy run into the box by toby resulted in a penalty. Which evan stepped up and stroked it away with aplomb.1-0 deserved lead even though we never really took the game to them like we should have. Ashton made 2 great runs through the centre which ended in shots just going high and wide, David also made an important save and i though we defended well. all in all 1st half was a decent display and went into the break 1-0 up. Said to the lads we need to play more especially from.the back with wind against. And the lads calved out a good few chances 2nd half. Again good play by toby resulted in a shot which the keeper palmed away. We were gifted a couple of chances by the velocity defender which unfortunately even couldn't take but in fairness there keeper pulled numerous saves and was there mom. We could have been more clinical I thought. Some good ply in midfield set lewis away down the left but unfortunately could tame the chance. Aiden done well down the centre and got a free kick which unfortunately he blazed over. I thought Dan played really well in an unfamiliar position at left back. Toby had and excellent game as did lewis on the wings. In general I thought everyone did well and on another day could have won by a lot more. But fair play the lads kept a clean sheet and an important 3 points. Mom was evan. Chosen by opposition. Thought he battled really well all game and was a constant threat. In fairness any one of the 11 could have got mom. Solid defence and a tireless midfield effort. Good display and showed desire and determination throughout. Well done everyone 👍⚽️👍⚽️👍

SWE 5 vs 2 Wickham Fellside Yellows (WFY)
Following some disappointing results in the league the lads were determined to show our potential.
Conditions were perfect and it was great to see so many parents supporting both teams.
The starting 11 got off to a great start scoring in the first minute, with Evan holding the ball up and Lewis taking advantage getting the first goal of the game 1-0.
Following the kick-off WFY showed that they could also compete and 3 mins in with some good passing down the channels, breaking through our defensive line, got a one and one, with a good composed finish scoring a good goal 1-1. The lads started to settle into the game and we created some good chances. Applying some good pressure we forced them back and on 25mins the WFY centre-half headed back towards his own goal, the ball looping over his own keeper and was unable to prevent the own goal 2-1.
Not to be put down WFY kept fighting with some very strong tackles showing they were going to make a fight of it. On 28 mins they pushed hard and had a strike on goal which David saved but was unable to hold the ball, their striker showed great attitude following in on his shot and reacted quickest scoring WFY 2nd goal from the loose ball 2 yards out.
At 2-2 it was game on, we then started to pass the ball with more accuracy, working hard for each other. On 30 mins Evan on his debut game for SWE showed good strength, held off the defenders and scored his first goal which was well earned.
At 3-2 we kept pushing forward gaining in confidence and on 35 mins Aidan won a free-kick 40 yards out and took responsibility (with a little encouragement from his dad 😉) placed the ball down and with a very good finish got our 4th goal, going in at half time 4-2 up.
At half time we made some changes and started the 2nd half on the front foot, on 50 mins WFY pushed up and the ball dropped to Charlie, he saw the keeper off his line and from his own half and with pin point accuracy scored an absolutely stunning goal, best goal I have seen in 10 years of grassroots football (5-2).
AT 5-2 We managed to keep playing with a good level of intensity and not allowing the score-line to break our concentration or determination. The players that came off the bench all contributed and showed a great attitude maintaining a good level of football.
On 70 mins we applied good pressure and from the right wing, Thomas delivered a pin point cross onto the back-post for Charlie to get his 2nd goal with a good headed finish.
At 6-2 I must mention the WFY lads, they kept going, fighting for every ball, forcing some good saves from David, their No.6 was a constant threat throughout the game with his outstanding turn of pace and ball skills.
The game finished at 6-2, our MOM was Alex C. who showed great commitment, composure and consistency throughout the game.
Well done to all the lads, lets take this attitude into our next game.

A first half to forget. And another loss, mirrored result and scoreline from our last encounter with heaton.
1st half we were miles off. In terms of hunger desire and application. Heaton bossed pretty much all of the half. Even though we had a couple of decent chances but unfortunately snatched shots either went through easily to the keeper or wide. The lads got a fully deserved bollocking at ht. As we went in 0-3. The desire just to win the ball back when we lost it was zero as a team. And we never strung many passes together. Really hard watch. 2nd half we were better and won the half 2-1 which is a definate positive. 2 well taken goals. Aiden from a corner and Lewis shot inside the near post. But a poor goal conceded and also a saved pen from David made the score a very dissappointing 2-4. Heaton played very well and are a good side tbf but we played very bad. Sometimes we don't really know which west end is gonna turn up at the min. Hopefully we turn the tide next week in the cup. Man of the match was alex. A player that rarely let's u down. Not the result we'd hoped for but when the home ref is chatting to the opposition players and staff at half time and in the car park at full time you know your in for an uphill battle. Poor performance from the official I'm afraid today. But Heatons 2nd half performance got them the deserved the victory in the end.
Missing a few players today. Jaxon, Toby (unwell) and Christian. So only 2 subs today.

The lads started really well, playing some good stuff and competing really well, we got the deserved opener a goal made and finished by aiden, he got into the box turned his man and slotted the ball inside the post to make it 0-1. We then made it 0-2 dan racing onto a ball and slotting it past the oncoming keeper. Nothing more than the lads deserved. David made a string of good saves in the 1st half and throughout the game to be fair. But with a minute to go at the end of the 1st half they got a goal back. The ref let play go on when the lad clearly was yards offside. The ref then admitted to a parent he got that wrong. To which he then changed his mind at the full time whistle after having a change of heart apparently. Inept referreing again im afraid. The reason he gave was bizarre. Anywhay we had to move on. Again a sucker punch for the lads as they deserved to be going in 0-2. A lifeline given to the opposition so we went in 1-2. 2nd half we weren't as good. Lack of fitness showed. And a few players feeling under the weather. But Heaton made it 2-2 after the ref played on when David was clearly clattered. Again joke decision. But we had to go again. Heaton in the ascendancy now and got there 3rd from a corner flicked in the far cormer of the net. Total turnaround. David pulled off some outstanding saves to keep.us in it. But Heaton grabbed a 4th late on. Tough pill to swallow. Goals change games and the official unfortunately gifted them 2 goals. But on 2nd half display Heaton were very good and deserved the victory. we just lacked a bit belief at times and like I've said fitness levels weren't great. But we go again. 1st half we were superb. Mom today chosen by the opposition was Charlie. We'll played mate. 👍⚽️👍⚽️

1st game of the season against a decent side on not the best pitch. Pretty much full strength side today barring aiden ❌️(injured foot)
Pretty even 1st half, both teams playing some good stuff. Newton aycliffe went ahead with a free kick. Davids positioning in goal not the best left the right side of the goal open. Sure enough he put the free kick away 1-0. Few minutes later Harry made it 1-1 with a good front post header off a lewis corner. Pretty even going into ht but the game def there for the taking. Second half we started well but unfortunately Alex gave away a pen and the lad calmly stepped up and put it away 2-1. Harsh, as we were the team on top but fair play the lads kept at it. We shoved Charlie up top and went 3 at the back. Fortunately we got the equaliser with about 15 mins to go. The ball cannoned about a bit and finally fell to Scott who tapped the ball home. 2-2. last 15 we pushed for the winner but didn't quiet happen. The Lads were exhausted. Really hot today. But a point we'll take. Could and prob should have been 3 points on another day. Mom today was ashton. Who ran the midfield tirelessly
Some good individual performances today and def some good 1 and 2 touch passing on show. Much improved after last couple pre season games. Onto the next game on Wed 👍⚽️👍⚽️👍

Not the finish we wanted But against a good strong side we held our own for large parts of the game. Ran out of steam at the end unfortunately and The scoreling didn't really reflect the game.

Full squad today and The lads started very well. Some good play and neat passing throughout the 1st half really. For me I thought we were the better side but couldn't quite find the finishing touch. Heaton tbf are a good strong side so we knew it would be difficult to keep them out if we didn't get that goal. And unfortunately just before ht the scored to make it 1-0. Tough on the lads I thought. But we said at ht there's goals there for us we just need to believe in ourselves. 2nd half unfortunately was a case of running out of steam, and as the half wore on they scored the 2nd and pretty much deflated us. Some good individual performances and lads never gave up. David making some good saves throughout, unfortunately let one go through his hands to make it 3-0 was the killing blow. Pretty much game over. Shame to end this way and not the way we planned it. Mom today was ashton who i thought was excellent in midfield along with jaxon and alex. Ashton showed desire and energy throughout both in midfield and especially at full back. Well done mate 👍⚽️👍⚽️👍
That ends our season unfortunately. Not the end result we thought we'd get. Especially after our start and pretty much 3/4 of our season as we looked on course for promotion. But key injury to players and lost confidence killed our season. Confidence is king in football and we lost our way in the latter half of the season. Hopefully we all stay together and build on the good squad we have. Been a pleasure boys. Lot's of up and some big downs but that football. See yous all next season thanks from me and rob for all your efforts this season and thanks to the parents for all your great support. Not had a game for a few weeks. Tough game against a good side. Points shared, but there was only one team that was going to win this and without there keeper it would have been 3/4-0. Only one absentee Jack with an injured elbow.

The lads started really well today. Playing some really good stuff. Took the game to Shotton from the off. After some good passing play we created a number of chances. One for Dan after a good bit if play between lewis and jaxon for lewis then to square it for Dan who really probably should have scored with only the keeper to beat but the keeper saved it for a corner. Then again pretty much the same move but this time for aiden but again hit at the keeper. Lads looked really lively. And deserved to be winning. The 3 lads in midfield were linking up well. Alex n again looking solid in the holding midfield role with jaxon and Ashton, Who looked livley all game. But for all our good pay we couldn't find the goal. Thought the lads at the back looked very solid today aswell. But 0-0 at half time. The 2nd half was pretty similar. Again some good play from lewis to square the ball again for aiden but unfortunately just got under it and it went over the bar. A free kick followed later after Ashton was fouled after a good run. Aiden stepped up and spanked it off the bar. We later found out from a few who said it his the inside corner of the goal. But unfortunately the ref didn't see it that way. More good play followed and more chances. One by Christian, a great ball in By Ashton found Christian in the box who got a great header on it But just went wide of the post. Story of the day really. Just couldn't find the net. But what a great footballing performance. Prob the best we've played maybe all season. Alex was immense at the back today, As was Charlie totally dominant. Just unfortunate that the good play from the midfield, full backs and 3 up front couldn't find the finishing goal that there play deserved. But really pleasing to see the lads play like we know they can. Even if we lost we could have came away with a really pleasing performance. One more left then the seasons over. Not the position we thought we'd be in a few months ago. But thats football. Def something to build on again next season. Mom today was aiden who was superb up top. Well deserved, but in all honesty it could have easy been 10 others. Quality from front to back. ⚽️👍⚽️👍⚽️👍⚽️

Back to winnings ways today after a tough period of matches and results. Jack returned to the team after a long abaense with a broken elbow. Toby misses out with a broken finger.

The lads started the game brightly with a front 3. Lads worked hard in midfield and created a chance for Jack who cut inside and drilled it into the bottom corner near post to make it 1-0. Jack was the provider midway through the 1st half as he got outside the full back and squared it across for a nice tap on for lewis. Then aiden had a good opportunity after going round the keeper but unfortunately put it over the bar, jack shorlty afte had a similar chance which he put over the bar aswell. 2 good chances but maybe needed a calm shot instead of power. But we went into ht with a deserved 2-0 lead. More of the same needed 2md half. In there credit they had a few dangerous players but never really troubled david. Then with about 20 mins to go the referee gave the hosts a lifeline with what I can only describe as one of the worst decisions I've seen in a good while. David came off his line after an opening in the box and clearly took the ball then the man. Which the ref agreed with but then gave a penalty......work that one out. They calmly slotted the ball home from the spot to make it 2-1. A nervy 20 mins followed buy thankfully we weathered the storm and took the 3 points. Alex nearly produced a solid display in the defensive mid role. Jackson and Ashton worked tirelessly. And harry produced a quality performance at lb aswell. All the defense did well today. Mom today was Jack though. Scored and assisted. Great to have u back.mate. Well done 👍⚽️👍⚽️

Not a great result in a fiery affair towards the end.
The lads went into this game on the back of a heavy defeat to the same side in the reverse fixture. Again we were down to the bare 11. With 4 players missing. But full credit to the lads who filled in positions there not familiar with. It was a tight affair to start but Darlington broke the deadlock to make it 1-0. After some good play by the home side they made it 2-0 at the break. Tough ask for the lads against a very good side. Don't think the referee broke into a jog the whole half. Few tackles flying in which he let most go pretty much all game. Poor performance by the referee unfortunately. The second half was pretty.much the same as 1st half. Darlington dominating the play really. We struggled to get into the game. With David in goal provided some good saves to keep us in the game. But with 2 goals in the second half it pretty much sealed the lads fate. After some verbal abuse from a Darlington player to one of ours it all kicked off. Throat grabbing then a tussle started the meley. Then a pitch invasion of a mixture of managers and players started. As we tried to calm the situation down. Tempers were def frayed at the point. Darlington players never covered themselves in glory with there behaviour. Which was a shame as there a good side. But in the end a deserved victory for the home side which puts another dent in our promotion push. Think were def lacking in steel in our side. Were probably too nice. But full credit to the lads that turned up. As they all stood up to be counted when they knew it would be a tough game. Shows there characters. Fair play. Now we have to kick on next week if we've any chance of automatic promotion. Mom was David in goal. Thoroughly deserved. Been a while since a report. Slack on my behalf. But today the lads grabbed another 3 points in a difficult game with 2 teams fighting at either end of the table.

With A few key players missing (jack, lewis and harry) the pack was reshuffled a bit
The 1st half wasn't a great spectacle on our behalf. Newton aycliffe made it very difficult for us. They worked hard and quite a physical side. So we couldn't really get going in terms of our football. But fortunately towards the end of the 1st half aiden pounced to slide it past there keeper into the bottom corner to make it 0-1 at the break. Tidy finish.
The 2nd half was better. But a few mins in Newton aycliffe.managed to equalise with there number 9 slotting home well to make it 1-1. Probably a fair scoreline at the time. But with about 25 mins to go the ball broke to Scott and he slotted the ball home calmly ro make it 1-2. A sigh of relief I think as we hadn't particularly played well to this point. And a few mins later a solo effort from toby ended with him putting the ball into the top corner to make it 1-3 and a bit breathing space. And at last showing a bit quality. Newton aycliffe continued to be physical and I think the ref let a lot go during the game. A few head scratchers on a few decisions. But the 3 points were much needed after the weeks before dissappinting defeat to Heaton. But that puts us back in contention at the top end. Some good individual performances today but the mom was given to toby. Great finish and he worked tirelessly all game. Well done tobs 👍⚽️👍⚽️👍
