✅ All 3 pools will be open!

Come along for a swim and make the most of the extra pool time. Whether you're looking for a leisurely swim, family fun, or a chance to get some lengths in, we'd love to see you!

🕒 Summer Timetable 1 (20th July – 9th August)
• Double Inflatable: Mon, Wed, Fri (12:30pm & 2:30pm), Sat (1:30pm & 2:45pm), Sun (1:30pm)
• Slide & Lily Pads: Tue/Thu (1:30-4pm), Wed (6-8pm) + Sat/Sun (9am-1pm)
• Slide Only sessions: Mon-Fri (8:30-10am) + Mon (8-9:30pm)

🕛 Summer Timetable 2 (10th – 30th August)
• Double Inflatable: Mon, Wed, Fri (12:30pm & 2:30pm), Sat (1:30pm & 2:45pm), Sun (1:30pm)
• Slide & Lily Pads: Mon-Fri (8:30-11am), Tue/Thu (1:30-4pm), Mon/Wed (6-8pm) + Sat/Sun (9am-1pm)
• Slide Only sessions: Tue/Thu (6-8pm)

Age Guidelines 👪
✅Children 8+ who complete a 25-meter swim test can go on the inflatable without an adult
✅Children aged 4-7/unconfident swimmers must be supervised by an adult on the inflatables with a ratio of 1:1
✅For general swimming children aged 4-7/unconfident swimmers must be supervised by an adult with a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children
✅Children under 5 must be supervised by an adult on the slide
✅Infants aged 0-3 must be supervised with a ratio of 1 adult to 1 infant

The building will be closed to all public swimming 9:30am to 11:15am on Thursday 2nd July 2026 due to a private booking.

Please note that the entire pool will be unavailable to the public during this time.
All other sessions on the timetable will run as normal.

🏊‍♂️ Paul’s Four Lakes Challenge – Second Swim Complete! 🏊‍♂️

Back in May, we shared that Birtley Community Pool volunteer Paul had set himself an incredible challenge, swimming four Lake District lakes to help raise vital funds for our community-run pool.

After successfully completing his first swim across Derwentwater, Paul took on his second challenge on Saturday 13th June, swimming the length of Coniston Water.

Despite very challenging conditions, with strong winds and rough waves throughout the swim, Paul completed the impressive 5.75-mile crossing in 3 hours and 15 minutes! 👏🌊

Paul has now completed two of the four lakes in his challenge, covering nearly 8 miles of open water so far. His remaining swims are:

✅ Derwentwater – Completed
✅ Coniston – Completed
🏊 Ullswater – July
🏊 Windermere – September

We are incredibly grateful for Paul’s determination and commitment to supporting Birtley Community Pool. Every donation helps us continue providing accessible swimming opportunities and community programmes for local people.

💙 Volunteer's Week 💙

It’s Volunteer's Week and we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who help make Birtley Community Pool possible.

As a charity-run community pool, we could not do what we do without the dedication, commitment and generosity of our volunteers.
From our welcoming Reception Volunteers to our lifesaving Lifeguard Volunteers and our Practical Task Volunteers who work behind the scenes maintaining our facilities.

We would also like to give special recognition to our Trustees. As volunteers themselves, they dedicate countless hours behind the scenes, giving their time, expertise and leadership to oversee the charity, support our staff and volunteers, and help ensure a sustainable future for the pool. Much of their work goes unseen, but their commitment is vital to the continued success of Birtley Community Pool, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.

Every hour volunteered helps us provide an important community facility for local people.

To all our volunteers, past and present, thank you. Your support and commitment make a real difference, and Birtley Community Pool would not be what it is today without you.

🏊‍♂️ Paul’s Four Lakes Challenge - First Swim Complete! 🌊
Last Saturday (16th May), Birtley Community Pool volunteer Paul completed the first swim of his Four Lakes Challenge fundraiser, taking on Derwentwater in Keswick.

Paul swam an amazing 2.2 miles in open water, completing the challenge in just 65 minutes! 👏
Paul is swimming four Lake District lakes, covering nearly 30 miles in total, to help raise vital funds for our community-run pool.

His challenge includes:
✅ Derwentwater - completed
🔜 Coniston - June
🔜 Ullswater - July
🔜 Windermere - September

Every donation will help us continue providing accessible swimming and community programmes for local people.
