This weekend we host Shrewsbury Cricket Club 3rds in our final game of the season. 🏏

💥 A WINNING DRAW ON THE ROAD 💥

Today, Castle travelled to Knockin & Kinnerley 2nds for a 2nd vs 3rd place clash. Castle lost the toss and were put into bat, with both captains agreeing to reduce the game to 30 overs due to the wet weather.

Tom Graham (28) and Jacob Cintra (20) got Castle off to a solid start before Dave Morris (50) continued his fine form with the bat. Greg Howells (19*) added some valuable runs at the end of the innings to take Castle to 146-8 from their 30 overs.

With the ball, Dave Morris was the pick of the Castle attack, finishing with 3-21, while Chris Cooksey also picked up three wickets for 27 runs. Gar W (1-11) took the other wicket as Knockin & Kinnerley finished on 142-7 from their 30 overs.

A winning draw for the Castle, with both sides taking 11 points.

Castle remain in 3rd place heading into the final game of the season next week, when we face Shrewsbury 3rds. 🏏

💥 A HUGE WIN FOR THE CASTLE AT THE MANOR! 💥

Yesterday, the Castle hosted Oswestry 2nds at The Manor Ground. After losing the toss, we were put into bat first.

🏏 Jacob Cintra (11) opened alongside Tom Graham (8), before Gar W (37) and Dave Morris (74) put together an important partnership to build the Castle innings. Tom Moulder then made a valuable 29* down the order, helping Bishops Castle post a respectable 201 from their 40 overs.

🎯 The Castle bowlers then put on an absolute masterclass. Gar W was the pick of the attack, finishing with 6/25 from 12 overs, while Dave Morris chipped in with an excellent 3/13 and Adam Fifield took the other wicket with 1/9.

Oswestry were bowled out for just 90 in 36.4 overs, securing a huge 111-run victory for the Castle! 👏

The win sees us leapfrog Oswestry in the league table and move up into 3rd place! 🔥

Next week, we travel to 2nd-placed Knockin for another huge clash at the top of the table… 👀🏏
