Another great weekend from my Masters 2 gals!
went in the masters championships for her M2 debut and first outing at national level.
Prep wasn't exactly straightforward 😅 but she never wavered, ticked every box and pulled it together to have another incredible day
Squat 152.5kg (+2.5 - a depth call on her opener meant we were a bit behind where we wanted to be, but she nailed her 2nd and 3rd to still walk away with a PB)
Bench 67.5kg (+5)
Deadlift 147.5kg (+2.5)
Total 367.5kg (+10)
8/9 and 2nd place u84 M2
Next stop for Michelle is British Masters in a few weeks!
Then Liz was going in the regional. Liz also had a few ups and downs in prep but she never stopped trusting the process and was rewarded with an amazing day
Squat 90kg (+10kg, 2/3 - she had no handler with her and took a crazy off-plan jump to 105kg on her 3rd, and got a depth call. Still stood up with it though so this will be there soon!)
Bench 60kg (+5)
Deadlift 120kg (+10)
Total 270kg
8/9
(U84, M2)
Next stop for Liz is English Masters in 6 weeks so we are straight back in prep for that.
So very proud of you both!

Have you ever left the gym thinking,
“I feel like I did loads… why am I not seeing the progress?”
You are going in, feeling a burn, getting your heart rate up, but the weights you are lifting are not getting heavier, and the changes are not showing on your body.
It's not because you are lazy.
You’re not undisciplined.
You’ve probably just never been given a plan that’s:
Structured
Flexible
Built for your stage of life
Working harder isn’t the solution 🥵
Working smarter - with direction - is. ➡️
We’ll break this down properly in my free online workshop 'The No BS Guide to Building Strength Over 40: What Every Woman Needs to Know'.
Give me one hour of your time, and in exchange I will provide
💪Clarity about HOW to strength train effectively over 40
💪A road-map to ensure you stay firmly ON the wagon
💪You next right step to longevity and resilience as you move into the next chapter of your life

See you there!

A big weekend for 3 of my online Masters 2 powerlifting girls this weekend!
First u90kg M2 at the BDFPA British Single Lift Championships.
She locked up 172.5kg on her deadlift to extend the current world record by 12.5kg and pick up 🥇
She also snagged 🥇 with 72.5kg on the bench press to cap off an awesome day. Getting it done like a pro as always.
Next stop for Emma will be WDFPF single lifts in Germany in the autumn
Then yesterday we had two going at the East Midlands Classic, with Anna going first in u63 M2.
She added an amazing 15kg to her total since her last comp (shown here benching 57.5kg for a 5kg PB). She had a couple of frustrating technical misses which cost her another 10kg but it was reassuring to know the strength was there for next time 💪
Finally 84+ M2 was hitting the platform to get her qualifying total for Bristish Masters in the summer, which she did successfully with her final deadlift of 117.5kg shown here (which was also enough to give her the 🥇!) We have a couple of small technical things to tidy up, and I am confident we can build on this in the summer 💪
So proud of all of you. Feeling very blessed to do what I do 😊

This mindset quietly ruins more progress in the gym than any other, Claire
'If I can't do it perfectly as written, what is the point?'
The idea of a work-out log that has one or two sets unticked, or that shoes you didn't progress on last week's numbers, is like something out of a horror film in your mind.
Sound familiar?
In your 40s, when your life is chaotic and your body is unpredictable, you simple cannot expect this level of perfectionism.
It is a fast-track to inconsistency and non-existent progress
You don't need to be perfect, and trying to be is harming you.
You DO need a plan! But it needs to be
Sustainable
Adaptable
Repeatable
and you need to trust that what you are doing will get you to where you are going, instead of wasting your very precious time and energy
In my brand new free online workshop
'The No BS Guide to Building Strength Over 40: What Every Woman Needs to Know'
I will provide you with

You lot are really out here just handing over your selfies to the AI?
I think I'll pass on this one 😅
Many of my clients are powerlifters or weightlifters and are chasing numbers on the squat, bench, deadlift , or clean+jerk and sn**ch.
But those numbers, whilst specific, are arbitrary, stepping stone goals that help to keep the momentum towards the *real* goals - strength, health, longevity.
These real goals are quite intangible and hard to measure, but it is important to remember them in times of adversity.
When chasing numbers there will come a time when the juice is not worth the squeeze. Maybe injuries creep in, or the fight for the next kilo requires too much sacrifice, or your life situation changes and it becomes unrealistic, or you get older and accumulate too much milage and your growth stalls.
This is why those little specific number goals, whilst important, are not enough long-term.
You need to understand the why behind the what. Remember the *real reason* why you go to the gym - what this is all for.
Give this exercise a go when you are setting your goals this year.
