Seniors not around, but that didn't stop the Juniors from a hard sparring session.

A great seminar by Iain Abernathy today took us into the world of Morinobu Itoman, a Japanese police officer. His books include discussions on throwing, choking, pins, improvised weapons, “cheating”, verbal deception, pre-emption, etc.
Iain’s take on Itomans work was, as usual superb.
Always good to push the boundaries of one's own knowledge, always learning. Thanks to Do He Dai Shotokan for hosting the day 👍👊

Great to restart the Fight Club sessions after the holiday break, and with my mended foot. A hot hard session but very satisfying 👊.

Great day at the second in the three seminar series, today we covered the methods of Choki Motobu. Most excellent.

Throws are often not included in karate which is unusual if you look at the written works of the old masters .
