So that’s it for another year at Aviemore. No trophies for Team Sami 🐾 this year but we have had a fantastic time as a new team and family. We have a nice foundation time to train towards beating ready for Aviemore 2020 🐾. Oscar and Jaxon set off this morning on the trek of approximately 11 miles and it was a beautiful day for it we even had snow start falling the last few miles. So here are the athletes about to enjoy what I think is a well deserved dinner 🥩 and the musher is if for a well deserved relaxing bath 🛀. Thank you to all the people involved in the making of this awesome time away, also all of you for following us and we hope to see you next year. Videos to follow in the next few days 🐾

Day 2 of the racing weekend over and although there was no medals or trophies for Team Sami this year due to my decision not to run on day 1, we did race today and we had a decent snow fall the night prior. Not enough for a sled race but what an experience. Finally got to run my boys in snow that is more than enough for me. Jaxon and Oscar ran so good together, and we now have a foundation time to work with for next year. Little Nancie also had a blast having ago on her first sled and made a new friend (zola). We will have videos to follow after we complete the 10 mile trek on Tuesday.

So day one of aviemore is over and unfortunately we did not run today. When we arrived at the race site the trail had iced over a lot worse than the night before so the start times had been pushed back an hour. Then after further inspection of the trail it was cancelled until further notice. It was almost going to go ahead with the scooter and bike jore class staying cancelled and only the rigs going out all after the forest commission had done all they could to make the finish line less icy. Most of the competitors had left by this time even though they was allowing us to run the full course. However at this point I made the choice to not run as I felt the trail would possibly be in better condition tomorrow after all the sand that had been layed down today may of helped the ice thaw a bit. So fingers crossed for better trail conditions tomorrow and if not we still have the trek on Tuesday. You just can’t predict the whether in the highlands still never mind got to meet lots of great people and had loads of Samoyed chat lol.

So.... less than a week and we are back out on Aviemore Trail 😁.

We’ve been getting in as much training as possible with a new born baby but this hasn’t been easy, the boys fitness is probably not up to their potential, but nevertheless they will give it their absolute best, which is all we can ask for and a safe run around the course.

This year Team Sami is being sponsored by Lisa Stilwell at Essex Rivers Clinical Canine Massage, for pre race and post race care, we fully trust Lisa with our dogs and know that they are the in best possible hands for keeping them in condition. Thank you again Essex Rivers for sponsoring us 😁👍🏻

This will be Jaxons 1st competitive race, he has turned into an amazing well driven lead dog, he has the drive and speed to help Oscar out around the trail. The boys work well together and we look forward to seeing the progression of the team .

Over the course of our time in Aviemore the boys will be working over a distance of 18 miles, this will consist of 2 days of 4mile racing and a 10 mile trek. The ability and determination never fails me with this breed 🐾

So stay tuned for our daily updates whilst out in the highlands... the temps are looking perfect for our boys 😁

Well we didn’t get snow this year but we do have a nice cold frosty morning and dad took us over the park for a nice off lead run. We hope everyone had a super Pawsome Christmas and we will see you all in the new year 🐾🐾🎄

Well we’ve been very busy the past few months. Prepping for babies, and getting in what training runs we can. But when you see moments like this all the sleepless nights, Pooy nappies, early morning rises makes it all worth while. Look forward to see my mini musher grow with the team and get hands on with the dogs. And one day take my place
