So the dust has settled, the trophies are at respective winners homes and I’ve had lie in and a few hours to reflect.
Firstly Sons of Anxiety would like to thank all the volunteers who make the day run smoothly; lifting and loading, refereeing, greeting, taking photos (ST Media) and tracking scores, athlete sign ups and more. They are the unsung heroes of the sport. Thank you 🙏.
Next we’d like to appreciate our hosts The Big Local Community Shop for allowing us to be part of their summer carnival 🙏.
We’d like to thank Michael Perry of CNC Creative Creations for sponsoring the event and donating gifts for the athletes 🙏.
Thank you to the spectators who cheered, groaned and put up with Rolonde’s ‘sense of humour’.
Now the athletes; it’s their day- they’ve trained often for months, they’ve endured injuries, soreness, fatigue, disappointment and elation. They’ve done the work; we salute you.

Lets goooo!!!! Lifting from 11am with the The Big Local Community Shop summer carnival stalls and activities including a stall from our sponsor Michael Perry from CNC Creative Creations; laser cut gifts and novelties.

So VENUE INFORMATION for Saturday’s Shad Showdown competition. If using a satnav your best bet is to drive to St Antony’s RC Primary School on Shadsworth Road Blackburn. Once you arrive there there is a footpath that you can drive down between the school and Linden Care Home which takes you onto the field. YOU CAN DRIVE DOWN THE FOOTPATH.
We’ll see you there 🦍⚔️

Trophies have landed, programs are printed and collected, T-shirts are due tomorrow and Portaloo’s are arriving 10am on the day.
We’ve brought our A game now you bring yours!!
Athletes register at 9:30am
Lifting starts at 11am
Warm up equipment will be available however feel free to bring bands etc…
Food is available via the scran van.
