This year's summer shootout competition will be an all day event with a start time of roughly 12 noon
As with each year of this competition, this year promises to bring some shock results, decent snooker played by a decent group of lads gradually getting drunker as the day goes on π
Entries are open, so drop me a message asap as I am hoping the entries will fill up fast
There are 64 places available so if you want a spot you need to let me know on here by text message or WhatsApp.
β° The clock is ticking, so get your entries in β°
Our MC for the day will be Ian Tolley who I'm sure will take a pint or 10 if you want to buy him a drink on the day.
This year we have also secured a sponsorship for the event from Rob Oldale at Smart Express
Any car body repairs, please give Smart Express a call. Rob has a reliable team on hand ready to take your call and look after you throughout the process.

So last night was night 2 of the snooker shootout and also finals night.
we had a great night with some absolutely brilliant snooker over the course of the night.
There could only be one winner and I think most would agree that his performance throughout was granite, he's not maverick but he is your 2025 subscription bowling snooker shootout champion Daz Reader --- congratulations Daz, enjoy your winnings.
Massive thanks to my dad Ian Stanworth for being a referee, Peter Dixon for his support and help, Kev Harris for chipping in and Ian Tolley for being on the mic for the night.
Lastly thanks to everyone who entered and everyone who came to watch. and if anyone wants to enter the Paul Sillett shootout at cleveleys mens in Nov then please give Kev Harris a shout

So tomorrow is night 2 and we go again with the action kicking off at 5.30pm, so far we've not had anyone else pull out.
Tomorrow will run from the last 64 for the bottom half of the draw all the way to the quarters where we will be joined by the 4 quarter finals from last week: Jordan Sanderson, Glenn Hunt , Jim Crowder and Rick Cameron and then we continue all the way to the final
We will have top bloke Ian Tolley on the mic for the evening providing banter and with free reign to take the p**s out of all players π....feel free to offer Ian a drink.
The running order for the last 64 tomorrow is as follows:
On the First Table we have:
Match #9 5:30 Owen Greenop VS Ben Smith
Match #10 5:45 Steve Webster VS Ant Slack
Match #11 6:00 Matty Amir VS Chris Stanworth

Both spots were filled yesterday. One by a player who was already interested and then the other by Wayne Richardson. If anyone else pulls out then a name will be pulled out of the hat from the lost a had compiled last night of players knocked out in round 1

As per my previous post
We had 4 spots available for Monday due to players pulling out. 2 spots have already been filled. I have 2 spots remaining for next Monday.
I have 2 players interested already and they will be getting back to me to let me know by tomorrow.
Anyones else interested in playing then please let me know as the spots will be first come first serve
If the spots have not been filled by tomorrow night then I will allow players knocked out in the first round to put there name forward to re-enter. Due to the number of players who have already asked the fairest way for us to decide is that we will randomly draw a name out of a hat and that player or players will be able to come back in to the tournament but they would need to pay the 10er entry again

1 or 2 spots may be available for next Monday due to 2 players pulling out.
I did have a few reserves for next week but 2 now likely can't make it and 1 is a maybe as he is receiving from an injury.
Anyone interested in playing then please let me know as the spots will be first come first serve

Well night 1 of the shootout did not disappoint. And a lot of very close games decided within the last minute or last seconds in some case.
Already we have had a few players tipped to go far knocked out. Last year's champion John Meakin fell to Rick Cameron in the last 32, Ryan Hough was defeated by Lee Duffy in the first round and Tony Poxon was also defeated in the last 32.
The ball in hand rule caused some damage last night turning multiple games completely on there head.
Our quarter finalists from night one are Rick Cameron, Jim Crowder, Jordan Sanderson and Glenn Hunt all played very well. How Rick beat Fred Scott in the dying second I don't even think he knows.
Special mention to young Harley Harrison (14 years old) and Oscar MacRae (11 years old) both had difficult first round opponents and both put up one hell of a fight. Oscar didn't get many chances as Dave Wilcock was 100% ruthless with the highest break of the night 36. And Harley scored a decent break but fell a few points short of the winning line. Both are names to watch as they have massive potential
We go again next week for the bottom half of the draw all the way to the final
