Just returned from an incredible three-week holiday trip to India, where Ania and I taught the first official Koryu Uchinadi seminar for the Kaizen Goju Ryu Karate Do India in Thrissur -Kerala. It was an amazing experience and a real honour for both of us.

In just a day and a half, we explored KU fundamentals: mobility, body mechanics, conditioning, two-person flow drills, and functional kata applications. A huge thanks to all the instructors and students for their amazing energy, respect, and hospitality. These open-minded people trained with incredible enthusiasm and curiosity — such a positive and motivating atmosphere!

A heartfelt thank you to Radhesh Krishna San, Mughesh PJ ,Jamshid RM San ,and everyone at the Kaizen Goju-Ryu Karate Association for the warm hospitality, great organisation, and friendship. They genuinely care about their students and actively seek ways to broaden their knowledge by inviting teachers from different martial arts backgrounds. We loved sharing the mat, meals, conversations, and lots of laughter.🙇‍♂️

I’m also very grateful for arranging the opportunity for me to visit and train at the Kalaripayattu school. This meant a lot to me, not only in terms of martial arts practice, but also in exploring the historical roots behind them. Thank you for the warm welcome and the valuable insights.🙇‍♂️

We would also like to thank Dill Young Sensei, who connected us with these wonderful people of the Kaizen Goju-Ryu Karate Association.🙇‍♂️

And to my wonderful wife Ania Kazmierczak - thank you for your support, energy, and the inspiration you brought to all the students, showing that it is possible to be strong, confident, and effective. Truly proud to stand beside you. ❤️

Finally, last but not least, we want to express our deep appreciation to our teacher Patrick McCarthy Hanshi for his trust, guidance, support, and continuous inspiration. It was a true honour for us to officially represent Koryu Uchinadi in this part of the world for the first time.🙇‍♂️

The memory of this trip will stay with us for a very long time.🙇‍♂️❤️

Last night's training session in our Dojo at Yoga Blackpool was a special occasion. I was so honoured to officially award my long time student Ania Kazmierczak with the rank of Yudansha in Koryu Uchinadi.

I'm extremely happy for her and it is a very well deserved (and hard-earned) achievement in her martial arts journey.

A massive congratulations Ania Kazmierczak - Your dedication to your practice reflects not only your proficiency in physical conditioning but mostly importantly, your deep appreciation and determination to uphold the core values of humility, discipline and humbleness.

Last but not least, a huge thank you to our teacher Patrick McCarthy Hanshi, for all your support and encouragement.

Good luck Ania on the next steps of our journey.

What an amazing surprise we had recently! Our dear friend Connor Edmunds san ,who we first met two years ago in the 1st KU Gasshuku in Okinawa - visited the UK all the way from New Zealand, and found some time to visit us in the North West. We had great conversations, laughs, and, of course, some solid training sessions together and a deeper dive into functional application 💪 So grateful for friendships that cross borders and feel like no time has passed. A true experience of Ichiriba C***e. Until next time (maybe in New Zealand this time)! 🙌
