With our season coming to an end it was time for our end of season awards.
A season with many ups and downs but as far as a first season with a completely new team goes it wasn’t too bad.
A team that finally left the group chat and best pals and mates got together and built a team.
Next season will be worth a watch!

Marton Athletic Christmas 2024
A new season with a new group of lads who have all put 100% in since day one!
From 24/25 turning up to training each week to putting in the work every Sunday, picked or not.
This group of lads are going to cause upsets in the future and I cannot personally wait.
Massive shout out to Kieran James Stott who has single handedly made this team possible!
Just a big group of mates finally playing together after years of saying it in the group chats 😂
Another big shout out to Bloomfield Brewhouse who have gone above and beyond to make our boys welcome! And also Phil Stott General Builder for his continued support throughout our season so far.
Also Craig Aspin & Gary Johnson, without your help in setting this team up, it wouldn’t possible, thankyou!
Have a great Christmas from everyone at Marton Athletic

After a week out of action Marton are back again tomorrow morning at Common Edge vs our biggest rival The Saddle, in the cup!
Just before the break we faced The Saddle drawing 2-2, this was a fantastic result although we were 2-0 up for the majority of the game thanks to 2 great goals from our own Charlie Thomas.
It’s safe to say both sides will be up for this one after the fiery battle last time out.
If you are free, I suggest you get yourself down to watch this cracker!
Thanks again to our sponsors

MATCH REPORT ⚽️⚽️
AFC Cleveleys 1-2 Marton Athletic
Location : Moor Park
Goal Scorers : Charlie Thomas & Ben Kelly
After a great win last weekend the boys took on AFC Cleveleys looking to grab another 3 points and gain some momentum.
The boys started slow, we struggled to move up the pitch and thus were having to defend quite a lot very early into the game.
Although we were very solid with Jakob Bennett making some brilliant saves, the ball did find its way into the back of the net.
The first half was definitely one to forget as we were nowhere near the quality we can and have been been playing in recent weeks.
After some discussion at half time the boys went out with a bit between the teeth.
Changes were starting to come our way and the tide started to turn, Adam Cardwell played some great football with Charlie Thomas working his way up the wing, Charlie played a dangerous cross into the box where Ben Kelly managed to find the net like the goal poacher he is.
We were now level but AFC Cleveleys began getting back into the game and putting us on the back foot, some fantastic defending from our back 4 made it very tough for the home side to breach us.
The game was nearing the end but with one last attack Charlie Thomas bursts down the right hand side leaving the defenders in the dust, it was then brilliantly placed past the keeper.
We weren’t great today and the lads know this but we got the 3 points and that’s all that matters.
We now find ourselves 3rd in the league picking up 7 points after 4 games.
We couldn’t be happier with our current standings and the lads giving their all week in and week out.
Men Of The Match : This week was a tough one as there were a few that definitely deserved to be man of the match, ultimately we picked 2.
Jakob Bennett : It’s not often you find a consistently good keeper at this level but Jakob is definitely one of them, was absolutely fantastic between the sticks and made some brilliant saves keeping us fighting in the game.
Charlie Thomas : A promising young lad with bags of talent and he is now beginning to show it on the pitch. A fantastic game from the youngster with a goal and an assist. We know this won’t be the last time we write about this lad. 👏
Thanks to our sponsors for their continued support

MATCH REPORT ⚽️⚽️
Marton Athletic 2-1 AFC Dunes
Location : Common Edge
Goal Scorers : Jake Ratcliffe & Adam Cardwell
After a tough game last Sunday the boys set out today with a bit between the teeth ready to take on a side we have battled with in the past and have connections with past and present players.
The boys started well, soaking up a lot of the pressure the dunes were throwing at us.
We managed to work our way up the pitch and get a free kick in a wide area. Jonny Lowe pinged a perfect cross into the box with none other than Snake Ratcliffe bursting through the lines and getting a first time shot off which rippled the net.
Not too long after our midfield maestro Adam Cardwell took a fantastic strike on the half volley from easily 25-30 yards out, finding the top corner.
We played some fantastic football in the first half and fully deserved to be 2-0 up at the break.
Second half was all about soaking up the Dunes press with Seb Roberts nullifying anything the likes of Kyle Magee threw at us. This was tough as we know how much of a good player Kyle is.
After a corner routine worked well by the Dunes they managed to get a goal back.
All in all we felt like we deserved the result with a very strong performance in miserable conditions.
Couldn’t be prouder of our squad and what we have achieved so far this season!
Man Of The Match : Jake Ratcliffe, after being made captain playing against his former team, Jake was vocal, strong and a huge presence on the pitch and even popped up with a goal. Signing of the season some may say 👀
Thanks to our sponsors for their continued support
