Match report

League game home against Morecambe Blues

Another professional and complete performance. The confidence of the girls is growing each week and this is showing in their style of play, composure and game management. This match was against a team that we have lost against 3 times this season. A slightly adapted style of play and formation nullified the Morecambe threat and allowed Clifton to maximise their strengths to come home 4-0 winners, in a game they were always in control. Amazing work girls!!!!!

Clifton started on the front foot and dictated the play thoughout the game advancing into an early 2-0 lead and consolidating this until half time. In the second half, the girls built on this control, creating a number of chances and the then scoring two further goals to finish 4-0 winners!!!

⚽️ Darcy - lovely work down the right by Mia which led to a cross field ball across the front of Morecambe’s box and Darcy in the right location at the back post to tap in the first goal of the day.

⚽️ Emilia - another week another wonder goal. A good early throw from the right by Mia into the danger area. Emilia allowed the ball to come over her shoulder, bounce in front of her and then a sublime strike on the volley into the far top corner!!

⚽️ - Emily - Goal direct from the corner kick from Emily, who swung it into the front post where the ball crept in between the goalkeeper and defender.

⚽️ - Mia - lovely corner routine between Emily, who lad it back for Matilda, who swing the ball into the danger area and the ball dropped nicely for Mia to turn and finish with confidence

Darcy/Scarlett

3 weeks ago the coaches challenged our wingers to believe in their ability, be brave and force themselves to advance create and score goals. Darcy and Scarlett have embraced this and done brilliantly. This is 2 goals in 2 games for Darcy and and assist. Scarlett would be the same, but for a disallowed goal today! Wonderful play girls.

Just the best attitude and never say die commitment from Anya. Not the tallest on the team. It nothing gets passed Anya, tenacious is the word and building in composure on the ball and around play. You were brilliant today 🐯
