The last few weeks at Poulton have been packed with announcements of new changes for this season, new faces, and new recruits (more to follow on this, on the pitch so…watch this space!!)…but today we say a farewell.

Everyone at Poulton Football Club would like to say a huge thank you to Donna Artis for everything she has done for the club and the community over the years.

Donna’s exceptional photography, dedication, hard work and unwavering support have made an incredible difference to our club, our players, our volunteers, and the wider football community. Her commitment has helped create opportunities, strengthen relationships, and positively impact so many people involved in grassroots football.

Beyond Poulton FC, Donna has been a tremendous advocate for football across Lancashire. Donna sits on the committee of the Mid Lancashire Football League as Media Administrator, where she provides a huge amount of time and effort to ensure that league is run to a high, professional standard. Donna certainly is always willing to go the extra mile to support clubs, events, coaches, players and volunteers not just at Poulton, but throughout the county.

On behalf of everyone at Poulton Football Club…thank you Donna! Thank you for your passion…thank you for your professionalism…and thank you for your friendship!

Your contributions will leave a lasting legacy and although Donna has agreed to maintain small administration roles behind the scenes at Poulton, your presence around the club and on matchdays will be greatly missed.

We wish you every bit of deserved success and happiness in your next chapter expanding the Donna Artis Photography brand and we know that wherever your journey takes you, you will continue to make a positive impact.

Good luck Donna, and thank you for everything!!!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Trial Day yesterday at Poolfoot Farm.

The turnout was fantastic, with plenty of talented players on display throughout the afternoon. The standard was extremely high, giving the management team some very difficult decisions to make over the coming days 👏

It was great to see so many players eager to test themselves, work hard and showcase what they can bring to the club. The effort, attitude and quality on display certainly didn't go unnoticed.

A massive thank you also goes to our coaching staff and volunteers who helped organise and run the session.

Poulton FC continues to grow both on and off the pitch, and yesterday was another positive step forward for the club ❤️🖤

We wish all attendees the very best and will be in touch regarding the next stages in due course.

Poulton FC are delighted to announce Lee Barker as the new Assistant Manager for 2026/27.

We spoke to Lee on his appointment and what he is looking forward to in his role 👀⚽️🔥

Q. So Barks, you've been on the coaching team for nearly half a season now and saw the season end with silverware. How was last season for you from the sideline?

A. To be honest, I never saw it coming! After my stint at AFC Blackpool, I genuinely thought coaching wasn't for me. I was happy just watching football from the sidelines and enjoying the game.

Then the messages started coming from the gaffer (Wigs) and they didn't stop. "Come on board, Barks, you'll love it!" he kept saying. I thought I'd give it a go, but I wasn't making any promises.

I've never looked back. It's been an absolute pleasure. From the committee, coaches and players to everyone involved around the club, it's a fantastic group of people. The welcome I received really took me by surprise, and to then help bring silverware to the club capped it all off perfectly.
❤️🖤

---

Q. How easy was the decision to stay on this season and take on the Assistant Manager role?

A. When I was asked the question, I was a little taken aback at first, but it honestly didn't take me long to give an answer.

I've loved every minute working with the lads and being part of this club. Before committing, I just had a few things to sort out in the background. I made the difficult decision to fold my Sunday team, step away from my role at Saddle FC, and make sure I could continue giving my all to coaching the Foxhall U12s alongside my commitments at Poulton.

Once I'd worked through those decisions and knew I could dedicate the time and energy needed, it became a very easy choice. The opportunity to continue working with this group of players and step into the Assistant Manager role was one I simply couldn't turn down.

The ambition around the club, the people involved, and the environment that's been created here make it a special place to be. I'm proud to be part of it and excited for what lies ahead.

Now I'm ready to give everything I can to Poulton FC and help drive the club forward both on and off the pitch. ❤️🖤

---

Q. What are your thoughts on the club in your time here so far?

A. Honestly, it's been unbelievable.

The club has really taken me by surprise in the best possible way. The people, the atmosphere, the ambition and the togetherness around the place are second to none. From the committee to the management team, the players and supporters, everyone wants the club to progress and succeed.

It's a brilliant club to be part of and one that's heading in the right direction. ⚽️❤️🖤

---

Q. With an already talented young squad, and the Reserve Team trial day taking place tomorrow, what are the management team's intentions this season in terms of building and recruiting?

A. We're looking to build on what was a successful season last year and continue pushing towards the targets we've set ourselves. 💪🏾

We've already got a talented group of players, but we're always looking to strengthen where we can. More importantly, we're looking for the right characters — players who are fully committed, willing to work hard and want to be part of the Poulton family.

Competition for places is healthy and helps drive standards, so we're excited to see what talent comes through and what additions we can bring into the squad.

---

Q. What are your targets for the lads this season and what would you like to see both on and off the pitch?

A. I'm massive on progression, so first and foremost I want to see every player push themselves harder than ever before and continue improving. These lads are capable of achieving a lot more, and it's our job as coaches to help bring the best out of them.

On the pitch, I want both teams to become more vocal, more competitive and more ruthless when it matters. Every successful side needs a little bit of game management and a touch of the dark arts at times! 🙌🏾

I'd also love to see more Reserve Team players pushing for First Team opportunities throughout the season. That's what development football is all about.

Off the pitch, I've seen some of the exciting plans the club has for the future 👀🔥 and I genuinely believe there are some great things ahead.

That said, as long as we've still got the karaoke on the coach, a couple of beers after the game 🍻 and the same banter and togetherness we had last season, then I'm all for it!

❤️🖤⚽️

Due to family commitments, club legend Jimmy O'Hara will be stepping down as Assistant Manager for the upcoming season.

Jimmy has given 30+ years of outstanding service to Poulton FC and has played a massive part in the club’s success — including winning Division 1 and helping the lads finish last season with silverware. Everyone knows the impact Jimmy has when he’s around the squad!

However… Jimmy is certainly not going anywhere 👏

We’re delighted to confirm that Jimmy will remain with the club as First Team Coach for 2026/27, meaning Wiggs, Barks and Jimmy will continue leading the First Team into the next chapter.

Thank you for everything, Jimmy — a true Poulton FC legend.

Today we celebrate Poulton FC's very own Tyler Hallanwho finished the 2025/26 season as the West Lancashire Premier League Top Goalscorer. 👏🔥

Tyler's goals, determination and relentless work rate have been a huge part of our season, consistently delivering when it mattered most and proving to be one of the most dangerous forwards in the league.

To finish top of the scoring charts in a league full of quality players is a fantastic achievement and one that reflects the hard work, commitment and dedication Tyler puts into his game every single week.

Everyone at Poulton FC would like to congratulate Tyler on a well-deserved award. We are incredibly proud to see one of our own recognised as the league's leading marksman. ⚽🎯

Here's to many more goals in a Poulton shirt! 🔴⚫️
