Wolves 2 may have had a tough league season, but tonight was a great reminder of how much this team has grown.

A hard-fought 51–49 win over a strong Rishton Grizzlies side, who finished near the top of the Hyndburn League, was thoroughly deserved. Every player contributed, and the teamwork, effort and determination were there from the opening tip to the final buzzer.

🐺 Man of the Match: Harry Piavani – an outstanding performance full of energy, hustle and impact.

👏 A special mention also goes to Ian Hardcastle, whose relentless defensive effort and steals were a huge factor in the result.

A massive thank you to former club captain Chris Chambers for stepping in to run the bench, and to all the Wolves 1 players, families, partners and supporters who came down to cheer the team on. Your support means a lot and creates a fantastic atmosphere.

Our Wrea Green Wolves 2 Team

This season marked a huge step forward for the club as we introduced our wolves second team into the Hyndburn League for the very first time.

With growing numbers at the club, it was the right move—but it hasn’t come without its challenges. A tough season overall, with players coming and going around Christmas and into the New Year, meant the team had to constantly adapt and rebuild.

What’s been incredible to see, though, is how this group has come together. New players bringing fresh energy, alongside Wolves who’ve been with us for the past 3½ years, have created a real sense of belonging, support, and team spirit week in, week out.

You can visibly see the development—both individually and as a unit. And that’s what this season has been about. With any new team, it takes time. It’s a long game to become a team that truly understands how to play together… but once it clicks, the wins will come naturally.

A big thank you to Coach Daniel Clegg for leading the team through the first half of the season, and to Coach Harry Piavani stepping in and driving the group forward in the second half—both have played a huge role in building what this team is becoming.

Well done Wolves 👏
With a few games left, we’re already looking ahead—summer training, player trials, new membership info, and coming back next season with two strong teams ready to compete.

The future’s building… and it’s exciting. 🐺💚
