Today we welcomed South Shore to Cottam Hall. These games are always tight, today was no different. South Shore took the lead from a corner that pinged around the box, before going in. Our boys got a firm grip in the second half and a headed goal from Oliver Beniston was just reward for the excellent play!! But sadly for us if didn't end there..... Another corner in the final few minutes and they toe poked home the winnerπŸ™„.

MOM went to our keeper Ben Green, who had a great game. So much good work goes unnoticed, especially in defeat. Well done Ben!!

Today we travelled to BJFF and the boys enyoyed a really well deserved 4-1 win. We dominated the game and fully earned the result. Our goals came from Josh, Owen, Rueben and an own goal that came from Joel's shot off the crossbar and followed up by Jack B.

MOM went to Rueben who had a storming game in the centre of midfield and topped it off with a goal. Well done Rue!!!

First game back after the winter break and we played newly demoted Spirit of Youth.

The boys played well in key phases but ran out of steam as the game went on..... Clearly too many Mince pies and chocolate 🀣.

Josh Brandes stepped into goal in place of our injured keeper. He played superb and was unlucky for several 'worldies' from Spirit's number 6 that he was never getting to. Our goal scorer was Jack Barker who smashed a left foot finish, great goal!!!

The back four played some of the best football of the team and MOM went to Oscar Harkins. He was composed under pressure and didn't make an error. Well done Oscar.

Bloody hell what a game!!!! This group of lads never cease to amaze us!

Today we travelled to Wyre Juniors who are unbeaten this season and sit top of the league.

The first half was tense, we kept them at bay and had a few chances to open the scoring. Half Time 0-0.

Second half and the message to the boys, was more of the same. Jack Dickinson struck first with a well deserved goal and made it 1-0 πŸ₯³. This goal woke the opposition up and they equalised and then went 2-1 up... πŸ™„.

Josh Brandes then scored for Poulton 2-2... πŸ₯³. With 10 mins to go the coaches are happy with the point, the boys aren't..... they feel they can win it!! Josh and Jack Barker link up and Jack puts it in...... 2-3, the referee restarts and instantly blows the whistle, we won the game with the last kick of the game!!!

MOM went to Harry Fletcher who with his defensive partner Henry Manson was immense at the back. He never missed a tackle and even cleared a certain goal off the line and was unlucky not to score at the other end. Well done Harry.

This team continue to improve year on year. Phase 1, 2021 games won 3, drawn 4, lost 1. This leaves the boys joint 4th!! Our highest ever league finish! Roll on Phase 2.

Today we welcomed Staining to Cottam Hall for the 'derby' game. It was a really competitive affair and it swung both ways throughout but finally finished 3-3.

Our galls came from the head and foot of Jack Barker and the final goal came with the last touch of the game from Josh Brandes! This team continues to improve after each game!! The final game of Phase 1 is against Wyre next week.

MOM went to our captain and midfield boss, Jack Barker. He grabbed two key goals and dominated the middle of the park, well done Jack.

OK, got a few to cover here.........

Today we welcomed an unbeaten Thornton FC to 'Fortress Cottam Hall'. The boys played superb and fully deserved the 3-1 win after dominating all aspects of the game. MOM went to Callum Bond who has really taken well to his new position, which he totally bossed today!! Well done Call.

The previous game was a 0-1 win away at BJFF Predators. MOM that game went to Harry Speakman, who was immense! He scored the only goal and was the true box to box midfielder!! Well done H.

The last one was the trip to BJFF Phantoms which sadly we lost. MOM that game was Elliot Jolly. He had a superb game and fully deserved the award, making some crunching tackles. Well done Elliot.

Two at once..... Last week we welcomed St Annes and we held them to a 1-1 draw. A great result against a team who has just come from the league above.
MOM went to Josh Brandes, who stepped up and played out of position in net and was fantastic. Well done Josh.

Today we welcomed South Shore and again it was a 1-1 draw. They were doggedly determined and dug in making it hard for us to play. MOM went to Henry Manson who was immense in defence and didn't miss a tackle, well done Henry.

Today we welcomed Staining for our last game of the season. Staining started really well and went two goals up in the first 15 mins!! The boys dug in and started to impose their passing game. Callum Bond scored from Jack Barker's well worked pass and it was 2-1.

After half time the boys went down again to another Staining goal against the run of play, 3-1. Cosmos never gave in though and dominated possession. Captain Jack Barker scored a great goal and we were back to 3-2. In the 71st minute Harry Speakman's shot forced the keeper to handle it over his line.... 3-3.

The boys were immense and never gave up!! There were stand out performances all over the pitch but MOM went to Henry Manson. He stayed calm and controlled throughout the game and was immense at the back, as well as playing a superb midfield cameo!!

The coaching team are so proud of these players, they are blossoming into fantastic people and great football players!!!

Now for a summer break!!!
