Mixed fortunes for the club today with the first team going down to defeat on Britannia Fields against the visitors Pill AFC 1-2. But a great result for the reserves running out 1-3 winners against Blackwood Town reserves in Pontllanfraith.

Jamie Jones with a spectacular 🙌free kick on the 84th minute seemed to have given the firsts a share of the spoils against Pill. However, a late free kick on the edge of the box on the 90th minute was met by the visitors number 5 Gary Colborne who got the ball into the back of the net and the three points for the visitors.

The reserves travelled to the Bryn Playing Fields and were too strong for Blackwood Town reserves this afternoon. Luke Bowen, Zak Thomas Bull and Ryan Hale coming off the bench grabbing the third for the village👍👍

The first team are on Britannia Fields as we take on Pill AFC in the Gwent Premier Division. Kick off is 2:30pm and admission is free🙌

The reserves take on near neighbours Blackwood Town reserves on Bryn Playing Fields in Pontllanfraith in a North Gwent Reserve League fixture with KO 2:00pm👍

An historic weekend for the club 💥 as for the first time in several seasons we have three teams in action, with the relaunched U18 team playing their first competitive fixture👍.

The first team host PILL AFC in the Gwent Premier Division with kick off on Britannia Fields at 2.30pm🙌.

The reserves travel to Pontllanfraith to take on Blackwood Town reserves in the North Gwent Reserve League. Kick off on the Bryn Playing Fields is 2:00pm👍

Meanwhile the U-18 travel to Nantyglo FC on Sunday in the Gwent Premier Youth League with kick off on Duffryn Park at 2:00pm🙌

A full throttle cup game on Britannia Fields🙌 but it is the visitors Caerleon AFC 🟢 who progress into the third round of the Gwent Premier League County Motors Challenge Cup 🏆 after a penalty shoot out win as the darkness descended on Britannia Fields.

The village found themselves 0-2 against the visitors, but the lads showed great character to pull 2 back in the second half Evan Jenkins and Ewan Walkley getting us back into the tie. The lads kept pushing for a late winner but it finished 2-2 after normal time and the game went straight to penalties.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be and the Romans progress through to the next round. Thank you to everyone who came along this evening to support the lads 🙌and best of luck to Caerleon in the next round 👍
