Blaenau Mediums vs Young Boys FC — Match Report

Under the bright lights and questionable refereeing of tonight’s blockbuster clash, Blaenau Mediums somehow managed to crawl, fight, and stumble their way to victory over Young Boys FC after a dramatic penalty shootout.

The Mediums lined up with Guto, Dennis, Ioan, Gwps, Choccy, Dyl Dans, Humph, Osian, Gethin, Math Churm and Jordan — although witnesses are still unsure whether Jordan actually arrived mentally. Reports suggest he spent most of the game “marking space” and occasionally jogging near the ball to look involved.

Young Boys FC came in full of confidence with Deio, Sion Roberts, Cian Pritch, Huw Evans, Moses, Jac Davies, Picks, Cian, Kaylum, Mabon, Deio Hughes and Beds… though several of them may wish they’d stayed home after tonight’s disasterclass.

The game itself was chaos from start to finish. Chances flew everywhere, mostly over the bar thanks to the combined finishing ability of Cian Pritch, Deio Williams and Sion Roberts, who together produced one of the worst shooting displays seen since someone first kicked a football. At one point, Deio Williams hit a shot so far off target there are now concerns it may interfere with satellite traffic. NASA are reportedly tracking it as we speak.

There are also growing questions over how Cian Pritchard apparently gets paid to play football. Scouts in attendance were allegedly seen asking for refunds after another shot disappeared somewhere towards North Wales.

If the goal was two metres taller, Young Boys would’ve won comfortably.

But while others panicked, Ioan Evans decided he was playing in the Champions League final. The man produced TWO absolute wondergoals — the kind where everyone stops for a second and goes, “fair play.” One flew into the top corner with violence, and the other had enough curl on it to make grown men emotional. Kaylum in goal could only stand there looking like he’d accidentally wandered into the wrong sport.

Not to be forgotten, Gethin Roberts also got himself on the scoresheet for the Mediums with a composed finish, proving at least one other player besides Ioan remembered where the goal was.

Math Churm quietly put in a solid shift as well, doing all the dirty work that nobody notices but everyone pretends they could do themselves.

Speaking of awful performances, Beds delivered a legendary stinker. Heavy touches, misplaced passes, getting turned inside out — it had everything. At one point he appealed for a foul after tripping over his own feet. Social media scouts have already described it as “a difficult watch.”

Kaylum between the sticks didn’t fare much better. The Young Boys keeper seemed determined to avoid touching the ball at all costs. Every shot caused panic, confusion, or both. The second Ioan screamer nearly sent him into early retirement.

Still, the game somehow dragged its way to penalties, where Dennis transformed from reliable goalkeeper into an actual wild animal. Diving around “like a cat,” he pulled off unbelievable saves that left the Young Boys players questioning their life choices. One save in particular from Beds reportedly bent the laws of physics.

When the winning penalty went in, the Mediums erupted while Young Boys FC stared blankly into the distance wondering how they’d managed to lose a game despite Jordan playing at 40%.

After spending most of the game 1-0 up its heartbreak for the meds as the opposition level with the last kick of the game. The Meds then went on to lose in a penalty shootout. Everyone at the club is proud of their valiant effort and wish the lads all the best in the upcoming season!

Match Report:
Unfortunately facebook do not allow the number of characters needed to write a full report. But to put the story short and sweet the meds were too strong for their oppostition tonight producing spectacular goals in the progress. It was great to see the 3 brothers out on the field representing the Meds and not only that but for all 3 to get on the scoresheet. The match result between them and port alone would be 15-4 this shows the talent that Meds are able to produce. All respect to the Porthmadog lads for showing up and have a safe journey home. Big thanks for the supporters again who turned up in their numbers to watch the talented Meds play. Onto the next now ❤️

Match Report:

In their first match in nearly three years there was a good atmosphere at the Astro as the long awaited return of the Meds was here. Everyone was aware of the test ahead and it sure did not disappoint. The Meds started strongly as Sion Roberts tested the Young Boys defence early on narrowly missing the upright. It wasn’t long after where the Meds defence was tested aswell as Sion Roberts 2.0 fired a strike wich ricochet off the post. However it was the Meds who striked first through Aron Humphreys who turned is defender and fired a wonderfull strike to the top right corner 1-0 the Meds. The Young Boys were quick to equalise as Kaylum Evans fired them level beating Ceri Jones at the near post 1-1. The Meds started to take the game to the Young Boys by playing beautiful free flowing football and it soon payed off as Sion Roberts (Dennis) fired the meds infront. The Meds contunied to dominate the first half as Jordan Rye showed his acrobatic ability to double the Meds lead.

After the break the Meds were caught sleeping with Sion Roberts 2.0 reducing the deficit back to 1 early on. The Young Boys were soon to equalise again through the talented Deio Williams. It was more of a Cat and Mouse game soon after as Gethin Roberts regained the Meds lead with a ferocious strike from the edge of the area. But once again the Young Boys equalised through George Totty who finished a well worked move. The meds played out the back with tiki taka style of play and the found Sion Roberts out wide who the whipped the ball into the area and who else but Ioan dukes was there to head in at the back post 5-4 Meds. Young Boys was battling hard and the soon had their fourth equaliser of the game through Sion Roberts 2.0 who rifeld a shot into the top corner. With only 3 minuets to play it looked like a draw until a well worked cross bounced infront of the opposing goalkeeper and Gethin Roberts was quick to pounce on the loose ball and tap it in to the back of the net. The Meds had won their first match in nearly 3 years and they contuined where the left off. Massive thank you to the Home and travelling supporters who made the brave journey in the weather have a safe journey! Up the Meds ❤️🤍
