Blaenavon RFC U9’s

**BlanFam we need you**

As you all know we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to sort out the Rifleman’s pitch to be able to use it as a second ground for us all!

We have been lucky enough to be shortlisted by Torfaen Voluntary Alliance Choice Grant Scheme.

This puts us into the running to secure money towards our floodlights up at the Riflemans BUT it is all done on a voting system.
The first opportunity we have to secure some votes is tomorrow at The Workmans Hall in Blaenavon. A few of us will be there and if you just pop in for 30 seconds that secures us two votes.

Please help us 🙏 even if you can’t, please ask the players to pop in if they are out and about. We would really appreciate your help in helping us win enough votes towards the grant to ensure the Rifleman’s is fit for purpose for our squads all year round.

Blaenavon U9’s would like to wish our no•6 Freddie Williams Ashley Williams all the very best for the season with his new club.

We are all going to miss shouting on a sunday “2 hands on the ball” “no handing off”.

On Wednesday after training our U9’s had a bit of a social with some lovely pizza from Munchies Blaenavon Est. 1994 followed by presentation of their winter bundles and new playing kit.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors Royal Mail Laura Miller and for Ruck Um Maul Sports for producing an amazing quality kit and for providing the kids training tops.

They will all look very smart on and off the field.

Today was our U9s first ever contact festival.

Each and every player gave 💯 and did absolutely amazing.

Was lovely to see each and every player full of smiles and enjoying playing rugby.

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to our players. Even though we are a small team at the moment, each and every one of you made your team manager, coaches and parents proud. Your behaviour on and off the pitch was superb. We had a couple of little injuries but even those didn’t stop your determination.

Big thanks to all the parents who gave up their Sunday to allow their child the opportunity to play as part of the U9’s Team.

And finallly…. A massive thank you to our coaches for giving up their Sunday to allow our kids the opportunity to play rugby and for stepping in to Ref other games.
