Final session of a fantastic season for the girls tonight. Massive well done to every single one of them.

Commitment for the season was great, brilliant numbers at training all year and they grew into a really good team improving week on week.

They have become the first girls team at Blairgowrie and Rattray CFC to win a trophy after winning the league and going undefeated in the process.

They were crowned champions of Inverkeithing Swifts anniversary mini tournament in the summer and also had a great league cup run getting past teams from tier 1,2 and 3 before eventually losing in the semi final to DUCT who would go on to win the treble of league, league cup and Scottish Cup so no shame in that at all.

Some great (and nervy) moments for parents and players this season which is what football is all about. As coaches myself Jamie and Stuart were proud to be part of it. Majority of these girls have only been playing football for 3/4 years so to do what they have done is amazing.

We wish Hollie, Cassie, Miley and Brooke all the best as they stay at U14 for another year hopefully the experience they have gained this year sets them up well for next season.

Also to Quinn who isn’t playing next season, disappointed to be losing her as she really
Improved massively last season hopefully she’ll be back soon and Laura who has decided to not play next season after being with us from the beginning both will be missed by the team.

Thanks to Jamie and Stuart who have put as much in as anyone into this season and have been brilliant coaches all year, also to the parents who have helped out organising raffles etc.

Next year we are off to Under 16s which will be a whole new challenge but one the girls and coaches are looking forward to.

🏆 East 2025 Lucy Hope Champions 🏆

2 matches to catch up on as we continued our push for the league title.

First up was Raith Away - 15/11/25

The girls started the game really well and were moving the ball around the pitch nicely, Carly would put us 1-0 up after a great touch to get between 2 defenders and into the box where she fired it past the keeper. Dakota got her first of the game after some good battling in the box where she won possession and finished. Not long after she got her second and third to give us a 4-0 lead with the assists coming from Marley and India.

Marley who was seeing plenty of the ball on the left hand side scored with a nice finish into the bottom corner and India would make it 6-0 at half time with a brilliant strike into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.

HT 0-6

Into the second half and Raith came back at us and it was a much tighter affair with good battles going on all over the pitch Dakota did finally make the breakthrough in the second half after Carly delivered the ball into the box she took a touch and finished well.

Raith pulled one back right at the death but all in all a good solid performance from the girls to put them 1 win away from the league title.

Game 2 22/11/25

Blairgowrie v Brechin

We looked forward to a home fixture for the 3 points required to clinch the league.

We were up against a Brechin side who have been in very good form lately and despite having a lot of possession and playing some nice football at times we struggled to break down the Brechin defence to create any good opportunities.

With 20 mins gone Carly whipped a corner into a dangerous area where Dakota side footed it past the keeper to put us 1-0 up and ease the nerves slightly. We continued to have the ball but Brechin were slowly staring to get up the pitch and cause us a few problems but the back 4 dealt with it really well playing some nice football at the same time.

Just before HT Carly put another corner in which India was able to fire home and make it 2-0. Despite not creating anything clear cut we would go in at HT with the lead.

HT 2-0

Second half was a really good game Brechin had grown into it at this point and were matching us all over the park, this led to them breaking out wide and scoring to put the pressure on again.

All season the girls have stood up when it’s been required and they did it again, with the game getting a bit tense for the Blair supporters and coaches Carly got free down the right hand side took a touch and delivered a perfect cross for Dakota to volley home and make it 3-1.

Just a matter of seeing the game out now for Blair but Brechin set it up to be nervy when they made it 3-2.

Thankfully that goal was the last of the game as the full time whistle went and Blair were crowned champions of the Lucy Hope League 2025

Well done to all the girls. Fantastic achievement coming off the back of some heavy defeats week in week out last season. They kept training kept improving and deserve everything they worked for.

Blairgowrie V Scone - 8/11/25

League Fixture

Anyone who was at this top of the table clash at Davie Park witnessed a superb game of football between the two teams.

Scone had moved into first place last week as we had no fixture and came to Blair looking for the upper hand in the title race. Right from the start Scone had us under pressure with their pressing and our girls really struggled to get any sort of momentum going and their was always the feeling that scone would punish us for that which they did in the 30th minute to give them a 1-0 lead at half time.

HT 0-1

After a wee talking to at half time the girls finally started to knock the ball about a bit better and were starting to get the pitch opened up a bit. Dakota drew us level in the 47th minute, after a bit of a scramble in the box she pounced on the loose ball and fired it home.

The next 15 mins was end to end stuff with both teams having a proper go at it, in the 62nd minute Marley played the ball out wide to Carly who took a few touches and fired it over the keepers head from 18 yards to put us 2-1 up with 9mins to play.

The next 9 min mins wasn’t for the faint hearted, scone came right back at us and despite Ellen’s unbelievable save and Libbys last ditch sliding tackle Scone were able to grab an equaliser with only 3mins left.

The character the girls showed at this point was amazing as they never gave up . With about a minute to go we worked it out to Marley on the right who delivered the cross into the box where India was waiting to head it home and produce a brilliant moment for the home fans and players. This was the final bit of action to finish of an unbelievable game of football.

FT 3-2

Thanks to Scone for the game and giving us one of the toughest tests we’ve had in the league, really was a brilliant game of football, luckily enough we were on the winning side this time.

Well done to Scone coaches and players for there sportsmanship at the end.

Still work to do for the girls this season with a difficult trip to Raith next week.
