Today is the final day to pay your September fees.

If you’re unsure of the amount due, please get in touch ASAP and we’ll confirm it for you.

📣 Reminder: Fees must be fully up to date in order to receive competition tickets, in line with our contract.

📌 Late payments will incur a £5 weekly late fee, starting after midnight tonight.

1️⃣ Is it expensive? 💷
Only as much as you want! Beginner costumes are around £45, training is low cost, and tickets are £23 per tickets for day competitions.
2️⃣ Are competitions mandatory? 🏆
No. Competitions are completely optional, we have two a year we go to as a full team.
3️⃣ Do I need to be flexible? 🤸‍♀️
No. We train dancers based on their own level and strengths.
4️⃣ Do you fundraise? 🎉
Yes! We have a committee and host an annual info meeting in Nov/Dec. This is optional.
5️⃣ When do I need a costume? 👚
Beginners wear basic leotards. You only need a costume after moving past beginner level.
6️⃣ Do boys dance? 🕺
YES! We have 5 boys, with 3 competing at the highest level!
7️⃣ Is it fun? 😄💜
Yes! It builds confidence, fitness, and lifelong friendships in a supportive team environment.

💬 Some Questions We Get Asked a Lot

1️⃣ Is freestyle expensive? 💷
Yes, it can be – but it’s only as expensive as you want it to be.
At beginner level, costumes are approximately £45 👗. Training is a minimum of twice a week and is very inexpensive compared to many other hobbies.
Day competitions are around £23 per ticket 🎟️, usually once a month – and that’s only if you choose to do them all.
If you become more serious, costs do increase, similar to most other sports ⚽🏀.

2️⃣ Do I have to go to all competitions? 🏆
No. You can choose to do day competitions and our one travelling competition per year 🚍. It completely depends on the individual dancer and family.

3️⃣ Do I have to be flexible? 🤸‍♀️
No. We train dancers according to their level and ability.
Many dancers will never be “bendy” – and that’s absolutely fine 💪. One dancer’s strength is another dancer’s weakness, and we love a challenge!

4️⃣ Do we fundraise? 🎉
Yes. We have a fundraising committee, and if you’d like to be involved, we hold a meeting once a year (November/December) 📅 with all the information.

5️⃣ Will I need an expensive costume? 👚✨
Beginners wear leotards similar to gymnasts.
Once you decide to compete, you’ll remain in beginners until you lose 3 grade points (which isn’t easy 😅). After that, you’ll need a costume.
Costumes can be bought second-hand ♻️, or if you wish, you can buy new – the choice is entirely yours.
Most dancers wear a costume for around a year, then sell it before buying another 💸.

6️⃣ Do boys dance? 🕺
YES! YES! YES! 🙌
We have 5 boys in our dance school, with 3 competing at the highest level 🌟.

7️⃣ Is it fun? 😄💜
We have an amazing team of kids who love being together and often become friends for life 🤍. There’s lots of laughter alongside hard work.
Dance keeps children fit 🏃‍♀️, improves concentration and focus 🧠, builds confidence 🌈, encourages social interaction, and teaches commitment and determination as part of a team 🤝.
It’s also a fantastic outlet for expression and overall wellbeing ✨.

We will never ask a dancer to compete – that decision is always up to the dancer and their parent/guardian 👨‍👩‍👧.

Our girl Chenai is starting her next chapter at Bird College after completing her HND at West College Scotland Dance! 💜✨

After being asked to go down for an extra audition, Chenai absolutely smashed it and secured her place on Bird College’s new dance course, with only 12 students being accepted! 💜👏

Her freshers’ week was amazing, and she’s now settled into her new classes and life in London after moving a few weeks ago. She is absolutely smashing this next chapter, and we couldn’t be prouder of her! 💜

We’re definitely missing seeing her face in class, but we are so excited to watch her continue to grow, learn and flourish. We can’t wait to see her very soon! 💜✨

🌟 GOOD LUCK, GREIG! 🌟

Even though our talented students eventually leave our dance school to begin college and move on to their professional careers, we love knowing that they will always be a special part of our school family. 💜

We want to wish the best of luck to our incredibly talented Greig Macdonald as he heads to Southampton to begin rehearsals for a fabulous world cruise contract onboard P&O Arcadia! 🚢🌍

This will be Greig’s third cruise, but this time he’ll be travelling all the way around the world! 🌎✨

Greig has also been involved in lots of exciting work, including K-Pop projects, films and much more, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has achieved so far.

Greig, we are so proud of you and all the hard work, talent and dedication you continue to show. We know you’re going to have an amazing time and make some incredible memories along the way!
