Join Everest Scouts, and help pave the way for our young peoples journeys, making friends and taking on brand new experiences!
We are especially looking for leaders in our Otters (5-7) 🦦 and Wolf Cubs (8-10) 🐺 sections (though feel free to drop us a message if you are interested in helping out elsewhere!)

An amazing turnout for our biggest event since we started!
At Base Camp 2026, our Otters, Wolf Cubs, Scouts and Rovers came together for a total of over 50 Young People, and a generally excellent camp, including all sorts of activities for all of our sections, a Scout hosted Talent Show, some kareoke and even a new investiture!

Back to school means back to adventure! 🦦🎒

At Winlaton Everest Scouts, our Otters section is for 5–7 year olds, meeting Wednesdays, 6–7pm.

We do everything from crafts and games to kayaking and campfires, theres always something brand new to experience at Otters!

The first of August marks a special day in Scouting history, from a competition in a national magazine to Camp with a National War Hero,

1–8 August 1907, Lord Robert Baden-Powell’s experimental camp on Brownsea Island, England with just 20 boys from different social backgrounds.

The camp was designed to test his ideas about outdoor education, leadership, teamwork, discipline, and character building. The boys were divided into four patrols—Wolves, Bulls, Curlews, and Ravens—each led by a Patrol Leader.

The success of this small camp inspired Baden-Powell to write Scouting for Boys in 1908. That book quickly spread across the world and gave birth to the Scout Movement, which today has inspired tens of millions of young people in almost every country.

It is amazing to think that a movement that now spans the globe began with just 20 boys on a small island over a century ago.

It just shows, with an idea, a dedicated team and a desire to do the right thing. Great things happen from small beginnings - Everest Scouts, join the adventure ⚜️

Last night, some of our Rovers, Scouts and Leaders came together to test out our newest bit of kit — our brand-new marquee! 😀⚜️🏕️

Its first adventure will be with our Scouts at Adventure Camp 2026 in just under two weeks, but this is a big investment for the whole group and one that will benefit our camps and events for many years to come!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to help us get it up for the first time — we can’t wait to put it to good use!
