Friday was a morning of Continuous Professional Development for the DanceTech teaching team 💃🕺

As an IDTA Examiner, I’m fortunate to be in a position where I can continue to train, support and develop my own staff - both in their personal dancing and in their methods of teaching.

I feel it’s extremely important that our teachers continually develop their technical knowledge, improve their own standard of dancing and keep their teaching skills up to date.

This means that every pupil who comes through the doors at DanceTech receives the highest possible standard of tuition and the best experience we can provide.

It’s also incredibly rewarding to see our teachers continuing to develop their own dancing to a professional standard and taking pride in their own progression.

Professional development never stops — and neither should our desire to keep improving.

It has been a real pleasure getting to know you both and helping you prepare for such a special moment.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed teaching you your wedding dance, and it’s been lovely to see how much you’ve both enjoyed the lessons and learning it together.

I hope that when you take to the floor today, you can relax, enjoy every second and just have fun with it. I’m sure it will be a really special moment for you both and one you’ll always remember. ✨

We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to our new Beginners Ballroom & Latin class tonight! 💃🕺

It was fantastic to see so many new faces joining us, and the atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the first evening such a success. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

If you missed tonight, don’t worry — you can still come along and join us. Complete beginners are always welcome, and there’s no need to book a course or commit to a term.

💃 Always fancied learning to dance but never quite got around to it? 🕺

One of the things we hear most often from new pupils is:

“I wish I’d started sooner!”

At DanceTech, you don’t need any previous dance experience. We teach complete beginners and help you learn at a pace that feels comfortable, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Whether you’d like to learn Ballroom & Latin, enjoy Sequence Dancing, meet new people or simply find a new hobby, you’ll be very welcome.

We’re a social dance school with classes taking place throughout the week and weekend at Bollington Civic Hall, above the library.

We also have children’s classes teaching Ballroom, Latin, Freestyle & Street Dance, with the opportunity to take OFQUAL-regulated examinations through the IDTA.

A huge thank you to everyone who has booked — we’re really looking forward to another fantastic DanceTech social night.

If you missed out on a place for September, we’ve now opened bookings for our October Social Dance Night so you have the opportunity to secure your place early.

Our social evenings are always a lovely chance to enjoy an evening of dancing, practise what you’ve learned in class and spend time with friends from the DanceTech family.

💃✨ MEET THE DANCETECH TEAM – JODIE ✨💃

Next in our Meet the DanceTech Team series, we’d like to introduce you to Jodie Ackers-Gittins, one of the friendly faces you’ll see helping to teach our Adult Ballroom, Latin & Sequence classes.

Jodie has been dancing since the age of six and has worked her way through the IDTA examination system. She is now taking the next exciting step in her dance journey and is currently studying towards her IDTA Associate professional qualification in Ballroom. 💫

Away from the dance floor, Jodie is also a school teacher — and her natural ability to teach, explain and communicate really shines through in her dance classes.

With her warm, friendly and bubbly personality, Jodie has a wonderful way of putting people at ease. She particularly enjoys helping dancers gain confidence and making those all-important first steps onto the dance floor feel a little less daunting. ❤️

Whether you’re joining us as a complete beginner or already attend one of our adult classes, Jodie is always there with plenty of encouragement, patience and a smile.

We’re very lucky to have her as such an important part of the DanceTech team. 🕺💃
