Near the end of Spring, today five gathered to enjoy the sunshine ? Enjoy perhaps not, as it sapped the strength, us Brits are not used to these sudden changes !! I was clobbered at the end lol. We welcomed visitor Jason who gave us a lesson with the Manchu Warbow and considering he has not shot our Marks before did verry well. Jason would have loved all these various traditions coming together. Onwards !! ☘️

A great turnout for todays King Charles III Coronation cup Rove. The weather was pre booked and all enjoyed the Spring sunshine. New Marks for some, the prize was well contested, Ed won again this year by 1 point with the Captain, Lee and Dave hard on his heels. Well done Edd.

A sunny Spring Morning at Flodden, landscaping being carried out on the course but a sad bow day for Tad as his new bow gave up the ghost, he's still smiling just !!

In the wake of storm Dave just five took to the fields for an Easter Rove, as I did last year I will let Jason say the words................." As the bells of Chapletown village call the good to sit beneath cold vaulted stone this Easter Sunday, we wandered across fields beneath bright blue skies vaulted with clouds in a chill northerly breeze. At Mark and Butt we shot, bows long and short. Fine weather, the best of traditions and the very best of company. If you're celebrating Easter, Celebrating having a holiday or just Celebrating some fine weather. Here's to you, enjoy....", thanks Jason, I couldn't say it better !!

Eight showed for this Mornings Rove hoping for dry conditions but at half time things turned bleak with strong winds and driving rain. All shot till the end, well done chaps. Andy showed us how it should be done with a superb arrow touching the Mark whilst wearing shorts, well 'ard !! Still, Easter eggs next week.

Morning started fine with hope for a dry Rove, then things went down hill fast with strong winds and driving rain, not good !!. Nine started, some bailed out at half time, why didn't I ?? Still, three had smiles on their faces, Jim, Tad and Emanuel had 'New Bow Day', the best day in any Archers life !! Emanuel and Jim demonstrated that drawing a 36 inch arrow is possible, but not for the likes of me, good on 'em. A good wet Morning with Archers showing their mettle.
