Bolton Metro Swim Squad provides a centre of excellence for talented swimmers working alongside swimming clubs in Bolton and the surrounding areas.

Congratulations to Leo who has been selected for the Swim England Diploma in Sporting Excellence Programme.
This runs as a two year academic and training programme for athletes in full-time education.

The aim of the DiSE programme is to support a diverse cohort of young athletes in the talent system to combine sport and education. DiSE aims to support these athletes to develop the
skills, knowledge, and competence to pursue sporting excellence alongside developing the skills and qualifications for a post athletic career, which may include a career within the
sporting workforce. DiSE provides a comprehensive syllabus to support young athletes to gain an additional qualification and achieve their full potential within the NGB talent pathway
as well as their future career.

The programme consists of up to 115 athletes selected for the programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Leo whose DISE journey starts this weekend.

Congratulations to Sophia who has been selected for the Swim England National Youth Development Programme.

The NYDP supports athletes who are progressing toward the Future Performance Potential stage of development ages 15-16. The programme will focus on building the foundations required for future success at youth and senior levels.

The programme consists of 150 athletes based on performances in events 100m and above.

This is a fantastic achievement for Sophia and a testament not only to her hard work and dedication, but also to the strength of the aquatic pathway in Bolton and the quality of the training programme she follows.

Her NYDP journey starts this weekend with a camp at Loughborough Performance Centre.

Congratulations to Leo who has been selected for the Swim England Youth Performance Squad.

The YPS consists of just 36 swimmers in total, male and female, aged 16 and 17. This is a fantastic achievement for Leo and a testament not only to his hard work and dedication, but also to the strength of the aquatic pathway in Bolton and the quality of the training programme he follows.

His YPS journey starts with a 3 day camp at Manchester Performance Centre this weekend.
