What an incredible fourth day we had! Our swimmers have continued to show amazing determination, enthusiasm and resilience as they swim length after length in support of our two fantastic charities, Bolton Smiley Faces and Cancer Research UK!✨

A HUGE thank you goes to everyone who has sponsored our swimmers, bought raffle tickets, donated refreshments, contributed to our donation buckets and cheered our swimmers on throughout the week. Every penny raised will make a real difference to these wonderful causes🌟🪼

We would also like to say a very special thank you to Ashleigh, our local Cancer Research representative, who took the time to come down and see what we have all been doing. Over 20,000 meters swam by our children so far!! How incredible is that. Our lifeguards have been tracking each lessons total number of lengths to provide a full total at the end of the week!!🤿

Our sponsored swim is officially underway, and what an incredible first evening we’ve had at Birtenshaw this evening!

Our amazing swimmers completed a whopping 301 lengths, covering an incredible 7,525 metres in our 20m pool!🏆🥰

Every single length is helping us raise money for our chosen charities, Bolton Smiley Faces and Cancer Research UK and we couldn’t be prouder of the determination, effort and enthusiasm shown by all of our swimmers tonight!!🫧🥳

🚨💦DROWNING PREVENTION WEEK is coming up!💦🚨

During the week of 13th–20th June, after our sponsored swim, at their swimming lessons, our swimmers will be taking part in important water safety activities to help them learn how to stay safe in and around water!☑️🌊

After the numerous incidents that have saddened the UK in the recent hot weather, we feel like this is a MUST for all children to be aware of❤️‍🩹

Using guidance from the Royal Life Saving Society UK, children will practise key lifesaving skills including:
🏊‍♂️ Floating to live
📣 How to call for help
🛟 Safe rescue awareness
🌊 Understanding different water hazards
💡 What to do if they ever get into difficulty in the water

Water safety is such an important life skill and something we encourage and introduce in some of our contrasting activities at the end of a lesson. We are proud to help build children’s confidence, knowledge, and awareness in a fun and engaging way🩵

We hope everyone is having a great half term so far and it’s great to see so many of our swimmers be CONFIDENT and SAFE in the water! Thank you for sharing your holiday pictures and videos with us- we L🐳VE to see them!!

Here’s a little update about this year’s Sponsored Swim! 🌊 Our event will now take place during the week commencing 1st June 2026, giving us even more time to make it bigger, better and raise even more money for two amazing charities!🤩🫧

But what is SwimSchools sponsored swim? If you’re new here, each year at SwimSchool, we organise our Sponsored Swim event where all of our swimmers help to raise money for incredible charities. Children are encouraged to swim as many lengths as possible during their 30-minute session, with lots of encouragement, fun activities and water confidence along the way🫧🥳

Over the years, thanks to the amazing support from our SwimSchool families and local community, we have raised thousands of pounds for charities including:
