❗️ MATCH REPORT ❗️
County Women were back on the road today away at St Annes. Within seconds of the kick off County should have been one up when the ball fell loose in the opposition penalty area but the opportunity was missed. Following this early chance the team became negative in their approach allowing St Annes to dominate possession. An early warning came when the County bar was rattled and this was not taken onboard as we soon found ourselves a goal down. This did seem the galvanise the team and they began to push St Annes back, creating several chances that came and went. However following a Brady cross Paige forced the ball home at the far post for her first senior goal. Within a few minutes County took the lead when KK burst through before slotting home. Disappointingly the girls could not hold on and St Annes equalised right on half time.
HT 2-2

County started the second half poorly allowing St Anns to dominate possession. They took the lead following a goalmouth scramble when we failed to clear the ball. For a second time, County stirred themselves into action when a Grimshaw free kick hit the bar and Amelia headed home the rebound.
Having gained parity County should have been on the front foot but instead the first half malaise came back and we conceded two goals. An unfortunate own goal and the final one a catalogue of poor defending resulting in the game being taken out of reach.
FT 5-3

🏆 GOG - Becci Grimshaw

This was a poor performance by the team with a number of players having a bad day and others not fully fit. It is doubly disappointing as the team have been played really well in recent weeks. It is easy to look for excuses including a shocking pitch but credit must go to St Annes who deserved the 3 points adapting to the conditions better and punishing our team's off day.

⚽ Match Report from our U12 Pumas ⚽

*Pumas 1 - Ramsbottom 1*

A really good game today, a true battle between 2 teams will likely be there or there abouts at the top of the table come May.

I thought we controlled the game really well in the first half, limiting them to few chances, and creating a plenty of our own.

We deserved to take the lead after a well taken corner from Theo, and Freddie did really well to guide the ball into the net.

The game became scrappy in the 2nd half and we need to be more ruthless with our chances, especially against better opposition.

We almost held out with a second clean sheet in a row, but with 5 minutes to go we conceded.

*Man of the Match*

Arguably his best game of the season today, Freddie did well both attacking and in defence. A well taken goal was deserved, and also brought others into the game on many occasions

Well done Freddie 👏👏

First team in action at home today against Springhead. Arguably the biggest game of the season so far, Springhead sitting 2nd and County 4th. Crucial game.

Axo toe poked a pen into the top corner. Apart from that he was pretty quiet.

One word. Demolition.
4th goal the pick of the bunch, one touch football from Qwuam, Rayan and Robbie (Bermuda Triangle) down the right side eventually ends in a 1 touch reverse pass from Robbie To Quwam who puts a beautiful ball across the box tapped in by the Springhead defender.

Special mention for the young lads today. Two goals from Archie Johnson and a first senior goal for Seth Thomas capped a spectacular performance from the boys. We march on. 10 unbeaten in the league.

❗️ MATCH REPORT ❗️
This week County Women had a week off from league action and instead of having a break they entertained Chadderton Women at the County Ground.
The team started on the front foot and were unfortunate not to take the lead when Jess was put through but her shot hit the inside of the post and was cleared. We were on top but could not make their domination count. Eventually we went in front when Grimshaw scored direct from a corner. Chadderton were working hard and reminded County of their threat when Becky saved well.
Finally the second goal came when Sanya set up Brady to slot home. As half time approached Amelia was unlucky with a shot that went inches wide.
HT 2-0

The second half started well for County as they were on top but as the half continued Chadderton started to knock the ball around well being unlucky with shots hitting our bar and post. We were still creating chances but the Chadderton keeper was proving a tough opponent. Eventually we scored the third goal when Amelia having been put through finished well slotting into the corner of the net.
FT 3-0

🏆 GOG
Brady for a creative midfield show in which she created a number of opportunities for the team and scored a good goal herself.

It was good that the team were able to get a game on a free weekend against a very competitive Chadderton team which was played in the right spirit. A good battle where both teams will have benefitted.

❗Match report ❗
First team in action at home today against Bolton United. Blustery conditions welcomed the two sides. County kicked into life after 15 minutes when Tom Axon Smith dispatched a penalty kick that was won by Archie Johnson.

What followed was a masterclass from County, free flowing football and wave after wave of attack saw us 5-0 up at the break.
Robbie Pollitt’s left footed curling goal from 26 yards into the stantion being the pick of the bunch. Referee’s comment after the game was it was the best goal he’s ever seen!

Second half against the wind was tough but we stuck to the task and ended up 7-0 up. Two late consolations for Bolton United were the only negative on a superb performance from County.
7-2 final score.

9 unbeaten in the league for County. Biggest game of the season so far next week against Springhead.

Bolton County U12 Pumas Vs Ladybridge Wolves

Pumas 6 - Ladybridge Wolves 0

What a performance from the Pumas today! The lads were excellent from start to finish, playing some fantastic football and showing just how much all the training and hard work is paying off.

Charlie was on fire, scoring a brilliant hat trick with 3 great goals, while Alfie J added 2 goals of his own. The scoring was rounded off with an own goal from Ladybridge following a really well-worked move from the Pumas. Great team football! ⚽⚽⚽

At the other end, Bobby kept a well-deserved clean sheet, with the whole team putting in a fantastic shift to keep Ladybridge out. There were so many great performances across the pitch, with everyone contributing to a superb team result.
