GT Ginetta Championship AM vice champion 2026

Round 6 at Brands Hatch GP circuit. A very technical, hilly, unforgiving track.

Was very fast in practice on Friday, which unfortunately was limited to the Indy track.

Qualification
Was fast and very little between each driver. Qualified P3 AM (p8 on grid).

Race 1

A smooth race finished P3 AM (p7 overall). Enough to move to P2 AM for the Championship.

Race 2

A good race keeping good pace, especially in the second half. Knowing that the competition for P2 had a track limits penalty the second half really worked hard coming in P2 AM (p7 overall). Still holding onto P2 in the Championship.

Race 3

A very eventful last race of the year. Red Flag on first lap, lot of damage to barrier had a long delay before restart. Race was reduced to 15 minutes. The sky was darkening threatening rain

Restart, probably the closest race of the season. Superb race speed. A bit of rain and slowed a bit to make sure would finish race. Right decision as car had been chasing came off on the last lap. Crossed the finish line to win the AM class - brilliant way to end the season. Got p4 overall as well.

That is the racing for the 2026 GT Ginetta Protyre Championship finished. Result AM Vice-Champion.

So much learnt, improved every round thanks to the superb support and coaching from Scott McKenna and Ben McKenna

A bit more test practicing over the next few weeks to prepare for next year before weather beats us.

And, a trip to New York in December for the Awards Ceremony.

Round 5 at Donington Park. A fantastic weekend of progress.

Fast in practice Thursday and Friday. Qualification Saturday morning P2 AM but felt could have done better having had an ABS issue.

Race 1: Start P2 AM (p 7 on grid) raced well narrowly missing a spin ahead, kept with pack bringing in a P2 AM podium (p 6 overall).

Race 2: Start P2 AM (p 8 on grid). Raced well , kept head in an eventful race and finished P2 AM (p 4 overall).

Race 3: Start P2 AM (p 4 on grid) . A good race in the pack finishing P2 AM (p 7 overall).

A solid performance, huge progress made on race pace. Moved up to P3 in the AM class Championship.

Last round is at Brands Hatch 26th and 27th September.

Round 4 GT Ginetta Championship at Snetterton Race Circuit, Norwich. A new livery which was a surprise. Helping to celebrate one year of MDD as a standalone Team 👍

Super hot practice Thursday and Friday. Then quali Saturday with Race 1. Position p4 in class (AM) in both. Threw out his fastest lap on the circuit in quali beating his previous by 1 and a half seconds.

Sunday race 2 and 3 and massive improvement in race pace. Consistently p4 in class just off the podium.

A weekend of driving progress, the only driver on the grid who has not raced cars before this year. On to Donnington at the beginning of September.

Oulton Park round 2, races 3, 4 and 5 of the Ginetta GT Protyre Chamionship.

Saturday 23rd did not go to plan. Qualification p9 (p4 in AM class). Pushed a bit too hard before the tyres were ready and ran wide onto the grass. In the heat the grass collected meant engine heat too much and car went into limp mode and into the pits.

Race 1. Had a good start, but almost immediately took a hit that put out the tracking. Fighting to turn left but kept pace with the pack, doing my fastest laps of the weekend throughout going into last lap in p6, and p2 on AM class got taken out be a bad rejoin from the grass by the car behind and suspension went less than 30 seconds from the chequered flag, DNF. Hard one to take.

Monday 25th May do much better.

Race 2. The heat was unbelievable, and quite a bit of the race was under the safety car. But it came good with my first podium with a P2 in the AM class, P7 overall.

Race 3. Even hotter. Another good race, without over pushing a hot engine, and a second podium P3 in AM Class, p8 overall.

Overall making good progress in the Championship, feeling more and more comfortable in the car.

Great start to the Protyre Ginetta GT Championship. My first ever car racing. Race 1 achieved P6 and race 2 P7. This gave me the championship points placing me p6 overall and p4 in the AM class. A decent start to the year with the MDD team.

Race 1 started P9, finished P6 Had a good start but early in the race took a big hit to the rear that damaged the exhaust so battled on with very reduced power. The race was eventful and result of P6 despite the power issues reflects that.

Race 2 started P9, finshed P7. Bit less eventful race, consistent race pace.

Next race Oulton Park Sat 23rd May and Monday 25th May.

Great day at the Ginetta Media Day kicking off this year's racing in the GT Ginetta Championship with MDD. Chipping away at speed had me P2 and P3 in Pro Am over the 3 sessions.
