Match Report: Us vs Hindley Green Rovers

We delivered a dominant performance against Hindley Green Rovers, producing an attacking display full of energy, creativity and clinical finishing. With five different names on the scoresheet, it was a complete team performance that showed our quality and togetherness.

From the first whistle, we looked sharp. Our wide men, Loui and Lennox, were a constant menace all game. Their pace and direct running caused problems throughout. Lennox produced a moment of real quality with an unbelievable goal and also grabbed two assists, while Loui added a goal of his own and chipped in with two assists as well. The pair of them were a real threat and caused fear every time we went forward.

In midfield, Tommy once again ran the show. Picking up back-to-back Man of the Match awards, his energy and vision were outstanding. Playing in the centre of the park, he controlled the tempo, drove us forward and never stopped running. He capped off another brilliant display with a goal and an assist, and he’s really found his feet in that CM position.

At the back, James put in another solid performance as our rock in defence. He was strong and composed throughout, and to top it off he grabbed his first goal of the season with a well-placed finish — fully deserved for the way he’s been performing.

Up front, Carson’s work rate set the tone. His constant pressure on their back line was brilliant and he got his reward with a goal, keeping his tally climbing and giving us that cutting edge in attack.

Overall, it was a top performance from us — full of energy, teamwork and quality in key moments.

One of the best performances the team has produced all season. From the first whistle, it was a complete team display, the passing, movement, and togetherness were outstanding. The constant awareness, always looking for each other, made it a joy to watch from the sidelines.

There was real elegance and flair in the way we played. The confidence showed in the movement and quality of touches across the pitch. Every goal scored came from brilliant teamwork, built through intelligent play, trust in one another, and a real desire to work for the team.

Tommy was like a Duracell bunny, non-stop from start to finish. His energy set the tone, causing constant problems in both attack and defence. He picked up two assists, but it was his all-round contribution, outstanding passing, and relentless attitude that stood out most. He was everywhere on the pitch and fully deserved Player of the Match, as well as Team of the Week recognition.

Loui produced one of his best performances of the season. A constant threat down the wing, his link-up play with Lennox was excellent to watch, and he topped off a brilliant display with a hat-trick.

Jake slotted into a more defensive role superbly, covering brilliantly just in front of James and giving the team real balance. He also got on the end of a Carson free kick, adding to what was an excellent all-round performance.

Theo showed fantastic character. After finding his debut challenging last week, we spoke about what we wanted from him and how to approach the game — and he delivered. He adjusted brilliantly, worked hard, and was rewarded with a goal. A big moment for him and fully deserved.

A massive shoutout to every single player. The effort and commitment were outstanding. This was about the team — the unity, the confidence, and the quality on show. A performance to be proud of.

AFC Monton V Breightmet United Blacks .

Last Thursday’s rescheduled fixture saw the lads put in one of their best performances of the season, earning a well-deserved win in an unbelievable game to watch from start to finish. With the match unable to be played this weekend as originally scheduled, the boys showed great focus and character to turn up midweek and deliver.

Despite going behind during the game, heads never dropped. The team kept pressing, counter-attacking, and showing real belief, which was rewarded in the end.

Goals came from Lennox (2), Tommy (2) and Carson. Carson produced a moment of magic with a halfway-line strike that completely caught the Monton goalkeeper out — an absolute 🚀. Lennox was outstanding, scoring a brilliant free kick and then linking up superbly with Loui to grab his second. Tommy stepped in goal for the first 15 minutes before coming on in the second half and showing true striker’s instincts, reacting quickest to two rebounds to tap home.

Man of the Match: Jake
Jake worked his socks off in a deeper midfield role and put in one of his best performances of the season. He broke up play brilliantly, moved the ball wide to start counters, and allowed Tommy and Nik to push on further up the pitch. A really solid and mature display.

The passing, togetherness, and resilience shown by the lads were excellent, making this one of their strongest performances all season.

A big shout-out to Rory, who played through illness because he didn’t want to let the lads down — a great attitude and a credit to himself and the team.

Very proud of the boys 👏⚽

Always a good contest against familiar faces at , this match was an entertaining and competitive affair from start to finish. Both sides moved the ball well and played at a high tempo, making for an open game with chances at both ends.

After a tough spell saw the team fall 3–1 behind, the response was outstanding. Rather than letting heads drop, the players showed real resilience and belief, fighting their way back into the game to draw level at 3–3. At that point it truly could have gone either way, with momentum swinging and both teams pushing for a decisive moment.

Our goals came through Loui, Tommy and Carson, each making a big contribution. Loui was a constant problem down the right-hand side, showing great intent and following in well on shots, eventually reacting quickest to a goalkeeper save to find the net. Tommy brought real energy when he came off the bench, full of running and enthusiasm, and it wasn’t long before he made his impact count with a well-taken goal. Carson led the line superbly, pressing relentlessly from the front and causing Bromley Cross problems throughout. His work rate was outstanding, his passing sharp, and he fully deserved his goal after another intelligent press caught the opposition out.

Carson was deservedly named Man of the Match, working his socks off all game and setting the tone with his energy and commitment. His constant pressing, quality on the ball and eye for goal also earned him a place in the Team of the Week.

A strong team performance full of character and fight, and another closely fought contest against familiar opposition.

Last game of the year ⚽️
We’re up against Bolton Lads & Girls Club to round off the year.

It’s been a big year for this group, growing week by week. We’ve had a few players move on and do really well at their new clubs, and we’ve brought in some top young players who’ve stepped in and kept us right up there at the top of the division. Plenty of strong performances, some great wins, and a few lessons learned along the way too — that’s football. Don’t get too high with the highs or too low with the lows.

Join us for the final one of the year as we come up against some familiar faces, including their manager, and our former goal machine… hopefully he forgets his scoring boots at home this weekend 😄👀

Wishing everyone a great festive period. Let’s finish December unbeaten and end the year on a high 💪⚽️
