Mytham Park Bowling Club

Have you fancied having a go at bowls, why not call down to the green on a Saturday at 13.30 for an informal bowl with like minded people. Or if you just fancy watching a game or two call along on Tuesday and Thursday to see the 'A' & 'B' teams in action. You will be made welcome and have a cuppa and a chat whilst there. We look forward to seeing you.

Don't forget each Saturday we hold a Round Robin at the bowling green on Mytham Road.

The Chair (Kath) and secretary (Paul) along with all committee members wish all bowling club members a very Happy Christmas and all you wish yourselves for 2022.

The bowling season for the Vets has now ended for the league games until next year, the night teams still have a few games left to play. We hope that a full season of bowling will take place next year. The bowling green will be open from the 1st April 2022. We are always looking for new members of any age group to play, so keep watching Facebook nearer the time for details on how to join.

And they go again, another beautiful day to play Crown Green Bowling.
The A team were away to Kearsley B team. Once again the away team came away at winners by 10 -5. Another good win and this puts the A team 3rd in the league after 4 games.

The B team were at home to Boothstown B.C. Vets, unfortunately the B team didn't fair too well today, and were beaten by a better side by 1-14 points.

Another mixed bag of result on Tuesday.
The A team were at home to Central and Mytham Park won 8-6.
The B team were away to Over Hulton Cons and lost 12-2.
They will both be playing again on Thursday.
The A team will be away to Kearsley B.
The B team will be at home to Boothstown B.C. Vets.
If you have time come down to Mytham Park on Mytham Road and watch some Crown Green Bowls. You may be inspired to join and have a game. The game starts 13.45 and last about 1.5 hours.

It has been an interesting first week of the new season for both the "A" and "B" teams.
The "A" teams first game was at home to Plodder Lane which they won by 10-4.
The "B" teams first game was away to Plodder Lane Peel which unfortunately the lost 5-9.

The second game the "A" team played was away to St Mary's "A" which they lost 4-10.
The "B" team second game was at home to St Mary's "B" which the won 9-5.

Well done to both teams with a win and a loss in the first week.

At last the Crown Green Season is about to get underway. This a shortened season due to Covid. It will run form 29th June till 26th August 2021
The "A" teams first game is at home to Plodder Lane on Tuexday 29th June 2021.
The "B" team are away to Plodder Lane Peel, also on the 29th June 2021. This is a new green to the "B" team.

It is with sadness we have to report the passing of Sheila Talbot. The funeral will take place on Thursday 29th October 2020 at 12.30.
Sheila was a valued member of Mytham Park Bowling Club for many years and she will be sadly missed.
Her family have requested no flowers but if members would like they make a donation they can to Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
We don't have details of the undertaker as yet, but when we do we will publish them here.

The green is now closed until April 2021. Also the club hut can not be used during the winter period. if anything changes it will be published here and on the website.
