Howfen Runners - Westhoughton Running Club

There will be no 5K runs on tonight. No run leaders available. Sorry

This year it has been decided we will not be affiliating with English Athletics.

What does this mean for the club?? ~ We will no longer be required to pay the yearly registration fee of £210 for the club every year and me no longer need to charge for membership as the costs would have had to go up. What we were getting back from EA was practically nothing apart from a London Marathon place.

So essentially nothing actually changes run wise. They're still free, all we ask is a voluntary donation of £5 once a year (more if you like) to go towards the cost of getting/keeping the run leader qualifications and to getting the post run biscuits and drinks back.

If you want to still affiliate with English Athletics you can through another club or direct through EA.

If anyone has received a renewal notice from the club please ignore it.

Last run Tuesday 23rd December and the first run in the New Year, Tuesday 6th January.

Howfen Runners special run schedule:
1st - Tuesday Fartlek
3rd - Tuesday Fartlek
Last Thursday - Hill Sprints
Note: 5 km will take precedence over Fartlek, if there aren't enough Howfen Runners Team members.

Tonight's casual pace 5K with me is off tonight. The regular 5k/hill sprints with Ron is still on. My run will be back on Tuesday. Rob

Tuesdays casual pace 5k will still be going ahead but with Amy, I'll be taking one on Thursday this week, so for anyone that doesn't want to do hill sprints there is a 5K option with me, It'll be a casual chatty pace one so you can run/walk or run/talk. Rob
